Most of us seem to have a secret love affair with bad cholesterol – we make it a point to regularly consume (even over-consume) foods that are known for spiking bad cholesterol levels in the body.

Bad cholesterol is one of the top killers in the world today. Scores of people are getting hospitalized, and more people are kicking their buckets because of ridiculously high levels of bad cholesterol.

And what are we doing – hogging on that hamburger and waiting for the next pack of French fries. Fast-forward twenty years, and we are bedridden – counting our days.

If this scenario doesn’t seem very pleasant, you better read this post. Because here, we will talk about the one (and only) homemade juice that can take care of your bad cholesterol troubles.

You Will Need

  • Garlic bulbs, 4
  • Lemons, 4
  • Ginger powder, 2 tablespoons
  • Water, 2 liters

Directions

  1. Before doing anything else, wash the lemon thoroughly and cut it.
  1. Wash and clean the garlic bulbs as well.
  1. Put the garlic bulbs, the cut lemon, and the ginger powder into a blender.
  1. Once done, pour the mixture into the water and heat it until it starts boiling.
  1. Remove it from the heat and let it cool down. Drain the mixture and store it in a glass bottle.

How To Consume

  • You can drink about 2 dL of this drink each day. Ideally you can have it two hours prior to lunch on an empty stomach.
  • Drink it for 3 weeks, and then stop for a week.

Why do you think garlic today enjoys the luxury of being a kitchen staple? It is because of its incredibly wonderful nutritional benefits. Even the ancient Egyptians consumed garlic for stamina (Don’t believe? You can check with the descendants of Cleopatra or Tutankhamun!).

Few More Tips To Get Rid Of Bad Cholesterol

1. Color Your Diet

I mean to say – ensure that you are taking fruits and vegetables of all colors. Fruits and veggies contain antioxidants, which are nothing but the ultimate superheroes of your body. These can help lower bad cholesterol. Have them in plenty, and you can be one of the healthiest people you would have ever met.

2. Increase Your Fiber Intake

Soluble fiber is the number one enemy of bad cholesterol. You can consume oats, barley, flax seeds and legumes – these are good sources of soluble fiber.

3. Say NO To Trans Fats

You live away from trans fats, or you don’t live at all – that is how dangerous trans fats are. They increase bad cholesterol, lower good cholesterol, and do all that needs to be done to put you in the hospital for the rest of your life. So avoid them at all costs. Foods high in trans-fats include processed and baked foods, greasy fast foods, pastries, cakes, etc.

4. Maintain A Healthy Weight

And how can you do that? By getting out of your home every day and exercising.
