Ever run into an ex at the most inopportune moment? Did you also want to run and hideaway in a corner after the awkward ordeal? Well, you’re not alone. Considering how big of an industry Bollywood is, it’s no surprise that actors and actresses find themselves getting a little close during the filming of their films. In some cases, they don’t even need to have been co-stars. While a lot of actors and actresses handle the ghosts of their relationship’s past well, others choose to take a more shady approach. In some cases, they ignore their ex to the face! Here’s how some of our favorite celeb ex-jodis reacted to facing each other:
1. Karisma Kapoor And Abhishek Bachchan
It was big news, the scion of the Bachchan family, Abhishek Bachchan and the hard-working and role defining older daughter of the Kapoor ‘’Khandan’’ were set to tie the knot in 2002. The pair had taken to Amitabh Bachchan’s Twitter account to share the news with their loving fans. Everyone seemed elated by the news until the pair’s families abruptly called off the engagement barely four months after they made the announcement. Neither of the families gave a reason behind the split although Abhishek’s mother Jaya Bachchan alleged that it was solely Abhishek’s decision. Despite the rather abrupt end to their relationship, the pair have always respected each other and never spoken ill of one another. Abhishek is said to be close to Karisma’s father and even took care of him and ensured he got into his car safely while they were leaving the airport. What a gentleman! There’s no bad blood between Abhishek’s wife, Aishwarya Rai and Karisma either as they were both spotted dancing together at an Ambani bash.
2. Ranveer Singh And Anushka Sharma
While the pair has never actually addressed the rumors that they were an item, it quite well seemed they were. Ranveer sent out an olive branch in the form of his wedding reception invitation and fans were surprised to see Sharma attending the function. When Ranveer was asked about his reaction to Anushka attending the reception he admitted that it was a lovely gesture and thought it was beautiful and warm. The actor also mentioned that Katrina Kaif attended the reception. Katrina was involved with Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika’s ex, for the longest time and split up with the actor a while back. Ranveer specified that he thought it was extremely special and significant that Anushka attended the wedding.
3. Shahid Kapoor And Kareena Kapoor
Like her sister, Kareena too was involved with an up and coming handsome dreamboat around the early 2000s. The adorable couple was said to have started dating while on the sets of their 2004 film Fida barely one week into meeting each other. Talk about love at first sight. While the pair seemed to share warm chemistry and things seemed to have been going very well until it all got sour in 2007. This was around the time they were filming their now-famous film, Jab We Met. While the film did insanely well at the box office and went on to become a cult classic, the pair did not last and parted ways. The couple played a drawn-out game of ignoring each other when they had to come together during promotions of their film, Udta Punjab. The pair didn’t even make eye contact once on stage and proceeded to continue ignoring each other.
4. Priyanka Chopra And Shah Rukh Khan
This pair were reportedly involved during the filming of their film, Don. While they had known each other in passing for many years prior, they didn’t get involved until the filming of Don. While neither actor discussed whether the rumors were true or not, Shah Rukh Khan continued inviting Priyanka to events and made public appearances with her to promote the film. Although many claimed that the pair seemed a little too”chummy” for co-stars and that Guari Khan tried to sabotage Priyanka’s career in Bollywood because of this. However Shah Rukh Khan doesn’t seem to bear any ill will towards Priyanka and he even exchanged pleasantries and introduced himself to her husband, Nick Jonas at an Ambani party they all attended.
5. Deepika Padukone And Ranbir Kapoor
The pair began dating in the year 2007 and anyone who watched Bachna Ae Haseeno won’t deny that the pair has some undeniable chemistry. Unfortunately, the Ranbir and Deepika had a very very messy breakup and Deepika confessed that the reason for their split was because (surprise surprise) Ranbir couldn’t’ keep it in his pants. The actress allegedly caught the Saawariya actor cheating on her with his future girlfriend, Katrina Kaif. Deepika has also opened up about how difficult the breakup was on her and how upset she was when the relationship came to an end. In an interview with a leading magazine, she stated that his infidelity was a recurring issue and she was tired of sitting there and taking it lightly. Despite the negative past, the pair have gone on to work together and seem to share a positive bond these days. And we’re glad that they did because otherwise, we wouldn’t have gotten gems like Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani and Tamasha.
