You might be upset at the idea of spending your birthday in self-isolation and not with your loved ones, but it doesn’t have to be all that bad! There are numerous ways you can have a blast all by yourself or in the company of your immediate family. With a little bit of creativity, you can have the most splendid birthday ever and who knows, you might even realize that things aren’t as bleak as they seem. Here are a couple of ways in which you can spice things up for your birthday while still adhering to social-isolation and lockdown rules:

1. Virtual Party

Stuck at home with friends all across the country? Don’t worry! Thanks to the power of technology, you can have the cutest little virtual birthday blast with all your loved ones through video calling. You can socialize with your friends via various video calling apps. From Skype to Houseparty to Google Duo and more. You can also use an app to set up a virtual game of cards or some other online board game. There’s no better way to bond during lockdown than video calling all your loved ones. You can also teach your grandparents to video call you so you can celebrate with them on your birthday and show off all your decorations.

2. Turn Your Home Into A Party Home

Didn’t have time to go out and grab decorations? You can convert old newspapers and other random items into decorations. All you need is a little paint, a pair of scissors and some tape. Turn your home into your very own personal photobooth and have a great time with it. Now that you’re home, you can go ham with your creativity and have a fun time all round. There’s no better time to take pictures than now. Even if you’re not the uber creative kind, you can just put up a couple of fairy lights and play around with the lighting in your home. Or you can deck it up with some cool themed posters and show off your shindig for the whole gram.

3. Movie Night/ Game Night

How about a Harry Potter marathon? Or maybe you can beat your sibling and parents at Monopoly? Nothing like binge watching all your favorite movies on a movie night. If you have a projector, you can do up your bedroom like a personal movie theatre and have an incredible time with it. Even if you don’t have people with you during this time, you can have a watch party with your close buds and tune into the same film at the same time. There are many apps online that let you do so. And hey, if you’re one of the lucky few who’s quarantined with their partners, Netflix and chilling is a smart idea too!

4. Turn Your Kitchen Into A Restaurant
