Self-talk is when you talk to yourself either mentally or out loud. Many of us practice self-talk, but often in a more negative manner than positive. These messages actually significantly affect your mentality and might affect you more than you realize it. If you are someone who is a more pessimistic person in life, you will have to shift the dialogue to be more positive. Of course, this is easier said than done, and if you are someone who tends to overthink and see the glass half full, it may be challenging to learn and accept the concept of positive self-talk. One way to practice positive self-talk is to help someone else out. You will thank yourself for helping that other person, and that other person will show you immense gratitude. So start by doing one positive thing for someone else daily and see how you feel. Then, start finding ways to help others, which will help you see the brighter side of life.
