Breaking up isn’t easy, especially when there are kids involved. While those of us who aren’t famous can get divorced behind closed doors with minimal involvement of others, celebrities can’t afford that luxury. When celebrities announce the end of their marriages, what often follows is a media frenzy over the reason for their split. Like many other celebrity couples, Hrithik Roshan and Sussanne Khan too faced the same ire when they announced they were ending their 14-year-long marriage in 2014. Rumors about infidelity, drug use and other scandals began floating around the internet but the couple maintained that their split was amicable and they just ‘grew apart’. Although the couple went their separate ways, they did remain in touch for the sake of their children. Recently, the pair were spotted cohabiting due to the state imposed 21 day lockdown to curb the spread of Coronavirus. Read on to find out what they were upto:

Co-Parenting Is A Priority
Hrithik and Sussanne share joint custody of their two children, Hrehaan and Hridaan. However, during this difficult time, the pair decided to live together so that their children will be able to spend an equal amount of time with both of them. Despite the pair being split up and admitting to not really ‘hanging out’ often, it’s nice to see them come together when it comes to the welfare of their children. Hrithik took to Instagram to share a motivational message with his followers and encouraged them to learn new skills during this 21 day period. The Agneepath actor shared a video of him playing the piano and joked that he isn’t all that great of a pianist due to his extra thumb. If you pay close attention to the video you can see Sussanne Khan strolling around in the background. In case you missed it, Hrithik even tagged her in the post and made a joke about her inspecting his house (as she’s an interior designer).

Temporary Office Space
Sussanne herself shared a picture of how she converted one cozy nook of Hrithik’s apartment into a temporary office space for her to work in. The talented interior designer shared an image of her enjoying the vibrant Arabian sea views from Hrithik’s sprawling sea-facing apartment and mused about how she made a desk for herself out of an old coffee table and a bunch of old cushions (talk about making the best with the limited resources you have). She spoke about how she pondered over the devastating effects of the Coronavirus and how it had impacted society around her. She also pondered over how things would be post the virus and whether we would be able to return back to our old lives after this, adding that we should contribute to the planet more within our daily lives. Like many celebrities, Sussanne too encouraged people to stay inside their homes and stay safe from the virus. At the end of her post, she credited Hrithik for the pictures and fans were overjoyed to see them being there for each other.
Spending Quality Time With The Kids
The actor shared an image of Sussanne in his house and spoke about how he thought it was unimaginable for him as a parent to think of being separated from his young children while the entire country was following a lockdown. He wrote in-depthly about social distancing and how it was heartwarming for him to see the world coming together at a time like this. He added how it is difficult as parents who are separated/divorced and that they both would feel the need to spend equal amounts of time with their children during this period of uncertainty. He went on to thank his ex-wife who he says volunteered to move out of her apartment and into his so that they can both spend quality time with their young sons.
Hrithik also thanked Sussanne for being an understanding person and extremely supportive in their journey as co-parents. He ended his post by wishing his followers, “I hope and pray that in order to safeguard the health of ourselves and our loved ones, we all find our way to express love, empathy, courage, strength with an open heart.” Sussanne too decided to chime in by leaving a comment on the post talking about how this phase of time will go down in history as being an eye-opener for the world as a whole.
While not all relationships are meant to last and some end up running their course over a period of time, it’s great to see celebrities coming together and being positive influences for their young children.
