It just takes one picture for people to make assumptions about others. Heck, sometimes, it doesn’t even take one picture. In some cases, celebrities have posted emojis, which has led to others assuming that they are pregnant. Some of these fake rumors spread like wildfire, and before you know it, the celebrity will be reaching out to let their fans know that “No, they aren’t pregnant”. It’s silly how we tend to assume a woman is pregnant just because she might have gained a little weight. Whether a female celebrity is single, engaged, already has kids, or is simply married and without kids, people tend to make assumptions about their reproductive state. If a woman looks maybe a little chubby, people will assume that she is pregnant. So here are nine celebrities who people assumed were pregnant for the silliest of reasons:
1. Sonam Kapoor
After Sonam Kapoor returned from London recently, many people assumed she was pregnant. Why? Well, because she was wearing loose-fitting outfits (don’t you know wearing loose outfits is a crime, ladies?)! The actress has been married to Anand Ahuja since 2018, and the pair do not have any children. Nor have they expressed any desire to have children yet. Sonam cleared the air up by posting a picture of herself on her story, stating that she was on her period. She wrote that she drinks ginger tea and uses a hot water bag to deal with menstrual cramps.
2. Paris Hilton
Many assumed that socialite and heiress, Paris Hilton was pregnant when she stepped out of a restaurant looking a bit “bustier” than she generally does. Paris is engaged to a man named Carter Reum, and the duo were spotted out and about post-dinner. Paris addressed these rumors and stated that she wanted to wait until after getting married to get pregnant as her dress is supposed to fit her perfectly on the wedding day. She also added that she was wearing a new pushup bra from her lingerie line and that the photographers got shots from some odd angles.
3. Hailey Bieber
Justin shared a picture with his wife, Hailey Bieber, and captioned it “mom and dad”. The caption was enough for people to assume that the pair were pregnant. After seeing the post, Hailey responded by telling Justin Bieber that he should change the caption to “Dog Mom and Dad” before people “get it twisted.”
4. Deepika Padukone
Deepika was asked by a journalist if she was pregnant while she was attending promotions for her movie, Chhapaak. We can understand how annoying it must feel to be asked such a question when you’re out to promote your hard work. She sarcastically responded to the journalist by stating that she would ask them for permission when she decides to have a family. She even added that if she really was pregnant, they would see the results in nine months. Nine months since the incident, and we’re yet to see a baby from the actress.
5. Samantha Akkineni
When Samantha decided to host an “Ask Me Anything” session on her Instagram story, many fans asked her if she was pregnant. Samantha looked visibly annoyed at the questions and stated that people have been asking her if she was pregnant since the year 2017. She joked that if she is pregnant, then this baby clearly doesn’t want to come out.
6. Jennifer Aniston
Just Go With It star Jennifer Aniston was always assumed to be pregnant even though she doesn’t have a child. Whether she has been single, married, or engaged, Jen has faced plenty of pregnancy rumors.
7. Dua Lipa
Dua Lipa shared a picture of herself in a plain cutout mini dress and added a caption that was a slew of baby-related emojis. However, she took to social media to dismiss all of the rumors during an interview that was aired on Jimmy Kimmel Live. Dua stated that she enjoys using random emojis in her captions, and that’s why she added a baby bottle, a tiny angel, and sparkles. She said that she clearly didn’t think her caption through and clarified that she wasn’t pregnant.
8. Shilpa Shetty
Shilpa Shetty, too, is no stranger to rumors, and after she was spotted exiting a diagnostic lab, she had to deal with inquiries about her health and possible pregnancy rumors. Shilpa took to Instagram to clarify the rumors and said that she was just getting a preventive health check-up done to know the health of her body from the inside and the outside. She also added that she wasn’t pregnant, and she didn’t understand the fuss behind the picture.

Popular playback singer Chinmayi Sripada had to deal with silly pregnancy rumors after people thought she looked a little chubby in the pictures. She took to her Instagram account to share that the image was shot at an odd angle, and her saree had loosened up a bit due to walking around.
