For those of you who’ve been married a long time, you know that true love is all about embracing and accepting every fiber of your partner’s being. In an interview with a leading news magazine, Kajol revealed that she and husband Ajay Devgn deal with the very same conditions. Read on to find out what she had to say:
Three Different Versions Of One Man
When quizzed by a leading newspaper about the different roles Ajay Devgn plays, Kajol admitted to knowing all three of his roles. The actress was asked how the role of ‘husband’ is different from his other roles of ‘the producer’ and ‘the co-star’. According to the Dilwale actress, Ajay is not so different from how she pictured he would be. She spoke about how all three versions of Ajay were created in front of her very own eyes since they’ve been married for nearly 21 years now. The actress admitted to how different the pair are from each other. She claims that while she cannot stop talking, Ajay is the opposite and quite introverted in nature. She spoke about how people would tell them that their marriage wouldn’t last and even her close friends warned her about him. Well, 21 years and two kids down the line, the pair is still standing strong and giving back to the haters by being absolute #couplegoals.
25 Years Of Knowing Each Other
In an Instagram post for a leading social media channel, the actress revealed personal details of their love story. The pair has been married for 20 years but their first encounter was in 1995 on the sets of their film, Hulchul. Kajol revealed that they were both with other people at the time and became really good friends.
The actress said, “We met 25 years ago, on the sets of Hulchul- I was ready for the shot & asked, ‘Where’s my hero?’ Someone pointed him out-he was broodily sitting in a corner. So 10 minutes before I met him, I bitched about him! We began talking on set & became friends. I was dating someone at the time & so was he–I’ve even complained about my then-boyfriend to him! Soon, we both broke up with our significant others.” The actress spoke about how the pair traveled between Juhu and South Bombay and loved going on long drives together. She even cracked a joke on how they spent half their relationship in the car.
She stated that their relationship started with holding hands and before they knew it, they were madly in love. She spoke about not heeding her friend’s warnings about his ‘bad reputation’ because he was different from her and that’s all she cared about. The actress further revealed that her parents were initially not happy with her decision to marry Ajay. She mentioned how her father refused to talk to her for 4 days when she informed him of hers and Ajay’s decision to tie the knot. She stated that her father urged her to focus on her career instead of matters of the heart but eventually relented. When asked about the proposal, the actress stated that there was no proposal and the pair just knew they wanted to spend the rest of their lives together.
Ajay’s Take On Things
While Ajay usually shies away from expressing himself on social media and prefers to keep things relatively private, the actor switched things up this New Year. Ajay took to Instagram to share an adorable post of his wife and himself on New Years with the caption- “Nearing the end of 2019 and closer to 21 years, still walking.” The pair have also been extremely vocal about supporting each other and celebrating their milestones together. In November of 2019, Ajay had successfully completed thirty years in the Bollywood industry and his wifey took to Instagram to celebrate and upload a post. Not one to shy away from displaying her love for him, Kajol shared a cute post of the pair to celebrate their twentieth marriage anniversary. She captioned the video with, “Me: So what do you want to do today Ajay: I don’t know what do u want to do Me: what do u feel like Ajay: Let’s just stay in and order some good food Me: Perfect! And they lived happily ever after in pajamas.” Talk about relationship goals!
Their marriage proves that not all Bollywood marriages fall apart. The pair has been through countless rumors and problems and has still managed to pull through each time.
