There is no statement that holds truer than this one: Kareena Kapoor is an absolute #FashionIcon. Besides playing some of the most stylish and diva characters to grace Bollywood’s big screen, Kareena has also modeled for some of the biggest names in fashion. With a name that is almost eponymous with fashion, it’s no wonder some of the biggest designers in the industry love working with her. The queen of fashion graced the runway at Lakme Fashion Week 2020 and to be honest, we’re still very shook:

What It Takes To Be A Showstopper

The Tashan actress looked absolutely fabulous as she confidently strode across the ramp in an iconic emerald green strapless ball gown. The corset of the ensemble was heart-shaped and featured a deep plunging neckline. Engineered to perfection, the outfit featured the designer’s signature polymers woven into the fabric to create a 3D-like effect and firmness. The actress looked absolutely stunning with her hair slicked back in a tight bun. She kept her makeup simple and chose to go with a nude look rather than her usual bold style. The actress was quoted as saying, “I’m wearing Amit for the first time and also one of my favorite colors. He has designed the outfit specifically for me and I feel very alive and s*xy tonight. The only one missing from the crowd is my husband. He should have come because I’m feeling fabulous.” The outfit looked almost reptilian and alienesque and there’s nobody who would have rocked it better than Kareena. The actress also admitted to feeling like a hidden model sometimes. She said, “I love walking the ramp. Maybe I’m a hidden model. I get to meet such beautiful designers, wear their clothes, feel so special. I like it and I enjoy working with all of them.” The actress enjoyed walking the ramp and admitted she likes Amit’s collection. According to Kareena the colors in this collection will be much loved by women for its uniqueness and futuristic vibe. The fashion designer himself admitted that he saw nobody except Kareena Kapoor carrying off his design. He explained that she added a whole new level of charm and elegance to the outfit.

The theme of this season was all about futuristic fashion and featured creations from designers across the country. Kareena walked for the ace designer, Amit Aggarwal. The Delhi-based designer showcased some of his best pieces from the collection and did not fail to disappoint with his massive range. His futuristic designs featured metallic motifs, deep cuts, and dark colors, keeping with the theme of the event. The event’s finale took place in the iconic, Mukesh Mills, a prime shooting location in Mumbai. The exotic collection featured sharply designed ensembles featuring intricate patterns in mauve, violet, berry, silver, green and red. The fabrics that were used to create these highly structured outfits included tulle, organza, and chiffon. The venue was specially crafted for the show and featured 3D projections on the walls which were in sync with the color scheme of the collection and made for quite a spectacle.

As everybody knows, truly, there is no Lakme Fashion Week finale that is finished without Kareena and she exhibited pride and a lot of respect when she stated that. So, Lakme Fashion Week turned out to be one spectacular event didn’t it? The ramp was graced by not just movie stars and models but also by talented sports-women like Indian women’s cricket team captain, Mithali Raj, who made her fashion debut on the Lakme Fashion Week runway. Kareena wasn’t the only one from her family to grace the stage, however. Her sister-in-law, Soha Ali Khan also rocked a super classy rocker chick outfit and played showstopper for designer Shahin Mannan.
