Kareena Kapoor Shares The Best Of Her Fitness Secrets With Fans

Kareena Kapoor has been one of Bollywood’s reigning queens for around two whole decades now and has always been setting trends with her taste in fashion and incredible figure. From inventing “Size Zero” in Tashan to embracing her curves and working on staying fit, Kareena has come a long way. It’s not been the easiest of journeys for the Heroine actress and she was often the target of trolls and called mean names when she was on the heavier side. Recently, the actress decided to share her fitness regime on social media. Here’s what she had to say:

A Healthy Attitude Is A Must

Kareena believes that the secret to good health doesn’t just lie in following a healthy workout regime and sticking to a diet. The actress believes that a healthy attitude towards life and eating the right kind of foods are the best tricks for staying fit and healthy. Like many proponents of the concoction will declare, the secret to a good start is a glass of lime and hot water. The actress begins her day by drinking a glass of hot water and lime, which she follows with a hearty breakfast like poha or upma. Kareena avoids binging on junk food and much prefers eating home-cooked food instead. She ensures that she eats her last meal for the day around 8 pm and not later.

Besides all of this, the actress also includes healthy probiotics like yogurt and dahi in her meals. Fruits, nuts, and cheese are also an essential part of her diet and she makes sure she eats according to major food groups. Besides eating healthy and right, the actress is a huge fan of Pilates. She also includes kettle-bell squats, boxing and battle rope exercises into her exercise regime. Kareena is also very in-tuned with her body and advises fans to “listen to their bodies”.

When Kareena starred in the song Yeh Mera Dil from Don 2, she donned a very hot golden metallic dress that stunned audiences everywhere. The actress played the role of a fiery siren who was sent to seduce Shah Rukh’s lead character. While stepping into the shoes of famed dancer Helen (who featured in the original movie’s song) might be daunting for anybody, Kareena carried it off with an ease only she could carry off. Despite the obvious command she had on screen, the actress was criticized for being too ‘overweight’. In fact, she was later quoted in an interview saying that her future husband, Saif Ali Khan thought she looked “s*xy despite being overweight.” Sounds like a backhanded compliment to us.

Kareena stunned fans when she revealed her svelte and slender new look on the sets of her 2009 movie Tashan (which is where she met and dated future husband Saif). The actress caused a frenzy amongst fans who were dying to know her fitness secrets and what followed was a media frenzy based around the concept of Size Zero. Many years later, when she was asked about her time being a size zero, the actress said, “I don’t know how the size-zero thing started—but I was only 27 and I wanted to do it for a role. It looked amazing, but that was then. I’ve been in the business for a long time since, and I’m more mature—now, it’s about being fit. I’m comfortable in my skin right now.”

On the 20th of December, 2016, the Khan and Kapoor Khandaan were blessed with a bouncing baby boy. Saif and Kareena became proud parents to little Taimur Ali Khan and he went on to become the media’s favorite celebrity kid. The actress admitted to gaining 20 kilograms during her pregnancy with Taimur and stated that she ensured she ate heavy meals and avoided processed food during that time. The actress also made sure she was extremely active and resumed working out around two months after delivering her son. She spoke about how she took it slow at first and initially only started with light workouts before moving on to cardio, pilates, and yoga a few times a week. She also watched her diet and ensured she didn’t eat unhealthy food while trying to lose weight.
