Being a Bollywood celebrity wife can be quite an overwhelming task. While many wives would want to be publicly supportive of their partner’s decision to pursue acting as a career, some prefer to stay out of the spotlight. Although, this doesn’t mean that these star wives aren’t talented in their own right. Some of these women are aces in their own significant fields as well. So without further ado, let’s take a look at star wives who like to keep their personal life on the down low in the public eye:

  • Sutapa Sikdar: Irrfan Khan’s Wife

While Irrfan Khan is known for starring in numerous films across many film industries, not many know that his wife, Sutapa Sikdar is actually his college sweetheart. The pair met while they were both studying at National School of Drama in New Delhi. During this time they fell in love and by the year 1995, they officially tied the knot. Sutapa Sikdar is a screenwriter by profession and has worked on movies like Qarib Qarib Singlle, which also starred her hubby Irrfan. She has also worked in Sanjay Leela Bhansali-directed Khamoshi. Sutapa was in the news recently for encouraging social isolation after her older son, Babil Khan returned from the UK due to the outbreak of Coronavirus.Khamoshi

The hearts of millions of fangirls were shattered when John Abraham announced that he was marrying his longtime girlfriend, US-based investment banker, Priya Runchal. The unlikely pair met via mutual friends in the year 2010 and seemed to hit it off marvelously. John had just gotten out of a long term relationship with Bengali bombshell, Bipasha Basu when he met Priya. While Priya is extremely supportive of her hubby, she keeps a low profile and isn’t seen in the spotlight as much.

Not a lot of people know that Vivek Oberoi is actually married to the daughter of Karnataka minister, Jeevaraj Alva. Priyanka and Vivek maintain a very low-key marriage and are rarely spotted hogging the limelight. Vivek himself took a backseat from his life as an actor and prefers to spend quality time with his loving wife and doting kids. The adorable pair share two children, a son named Vivaan and a daughter named Ameyaa.

Although this couple faced a lot of opposition from both sides of their family when they decided to tie the knot, they didn’t care. Sohail and Seema eloped behind their families’ backs as they believed they were in true love with each other. Eventually, their families grew to accept each other and Sohail and Seema have been married since 1998. The loving pair also share two children together, Nirvan and Yohan.

Madhavan and his significant other, Sarita Birje met at a public speaking class. He was guest lecturing at the time and his future wife just happened to be attending the class. Talk about meant to be! The pair tied the knot in 1999 and Sarita worked as a flight attendant before that. Their adorable relationship has often been called ideal by the media and Sarita has even designed costumes for some of Madhavan’s movies.

  • Aaliya Siddiqui: Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s Wife

This pair was destined to be put together. Nawazuddin dated and was in a relationship with Aaliya before they decided to part ways. Nawazuddin tied the knot with someone else but after that marriage fell through, he realized Aaliya was the only one for him. The pair went on to tie the knot and now share two children, a son and a daughter.

  • Tanya Deol: Bobby Deol’s Wife

Bobby and his wife Tanya met in a rather uncanny manner. The pair allegedly met at a restaurant and decided they were meant to be together. They had a love marriage and tied the knot in a traditional ceremony with close family and friends in the year 1996. Tanya is a furniture designer by profession and she and Bobby share two sons together. She prefers keeping out of the spotlight and rarely makes an appearance on her husband’s Instagram.

While there’s nothing wrong with having fun and being obvious about your relationship on social media, it’s nice to see that some celebrities prefer not to do so. Sometimes, the most diplomatic stance to take is to not comment on your relationship in public. Which couple on this list was the most low-key and private according to you?
