Meenakshi Seshadri Gives Us All The Feels In This Epic Throwback Post
We live in a world where some people age like vampires. With the hilarious conspiracy theories surrounding the fake illegal substance “adrenochrome” being popular within the film industry, it’s no wonder that people genuinely think of celebrities as vampires. And some stars, like Meenakshi Seshadri, seemed to have tapped into the proverbial fountain of youth with their incredibly youthful and divine looks. The elegant actress and former model show us that aging can look just as graceful as youth’s exuberance. Let’s take a look at some awesome throwback posts that Meenakshi has graced our social media handles with:
Fond Memories
The 56-year-old model and actress shared a throwback image from the sets of her film, Meri Jung, while showing off the same pose. Her look in the film was iconic and truly stole the hearts of many when it was released 35 years ago. The actress stunned her followers by sharing an incredible throwback image of herself and captioned it then and now. Meenakshi played the character of Geeta Srivastav in the film and starred alongside Anil Kapoor, Nutan, Amrish Puri, Javed Jaffery, and more. It is considered one of Anil Kapoor’s breakthrough performances. The film was also nominated for a Filmfare Award for Best Film.
The actress had also shared another image of herself from her younger days next to a picture of her in recent times. In the photo, Meenakshi is decked in exquisite gold jewelry and pearls. She poses in a saree as she gazes into the camera. Meenakshi’s beauty is truly ethereal and unique in that she doesn’t try to look young. She wears the lines on her face with a badge of honor and doesn’t overdo her makeup in an attempt to come across as an actress much younger.
A Quiet Family Life
Just because Meenakshi has taken a step back from acting, doesn’t mean she’s not focussed on her other passions. She is a trained classical dancer and has shared images of her performing on stage in her current hometown of Texas. Meenakshi has always been a bold woman and one to take destiny within her own hands. When asked how she met her banker husband, Harish Mysore, she shared an interesting story. She spoke about how her future sister-in-law had interviewed her and that they had got along very very well. After her future sister-in-law mentioned that she had a brother, Meenakshi, who was looking to settle down, asked if he was married.
Meenakshi stated that her sister-in-law had stated that her brother was even better than she was. Meenakshi, who was traveling to New York at the time, decided to give Harish a call, and before everyone knew it, cupid had struck the pair. Meenakshi and Harish got married in a simple and private civil wedding in the year 1995. After the couple got married, Meenakshi decided to retire from her acting career in Bollywood and follow her husband to the city of Plano, Texas. Once there, Meenakshi realized her dream of opening a classical dance academy and decided to open a dance academy by the name of Cherish Dance School. The school was founded by Meenakshi’s husband, and she teaches the dance forms of Odissi, Bharatanatyam, and Kuchipudi. The pair share two children, a son named Josh and a daughter named Kendra.
Departing From Her Comfort Zone
Meenakshi had revealed earlier that it was not easy for her to take a step away from her life in India and move to the United States. She spoke about how it was a major culture shock for her because she had been raised in a very traditional Indian family. During an interview, she had once said, “I just could not relate myself with the US environs. Human beings are so used to their routine that it really takes an effort to change. I never thought of driving, and that was my biggest inhibition. I was so used to my driver and above all, I was terribly scared of driving, it took me almost three years to plunge onto the freeway.”
When asked about her dance school, she expressed how passionate she was about teaching young children and spreading the cultural heritage of India. She had said, “This three-year-old dance school goes beyond teaching dance. It is an assembly of talented dancers, a voluntary body to enhance multi-culture, revealing the best talent of people of all ages.” Meenakshi has been honest that she is a dancer first and then an actress. She has always enjoyed dancing as an art form more than pursuing a career in acting, and hence stepping away from Bollywood wasn’t too difficult of a decision to make for her.

Meenakshi shared how she truly enjoyed working with Rishi Kapoor and how they had bonded on the sets of one of their most well-known films Damini. While Meenakshi hadn’t worked with or known Irrfan Khan personally, she too shared in the sentiments of millions of his fans who were absolutely distraught at the news of his death.
