The MET Gala has been one of the most awaited and anticipated events for celebrities, fashionistas, fashion designers, and millions of celebrity fans. The theme of this year’s MET Gala is “In America: A Lexicon of Fashion”. While there were many hits, there were plenty of misses as well. This year’s MET Gala not only astonished fans but also sparked major meme fests online. So in accordance with that theme, let’s look at twenty of the many exciting looks spotted on the MET Gala:
1. Rihanna & ASAP Rocky
Rihanna and ASAP Rocky showed up fashionably late in very unique outfits. Rihanna donned a dramatic-looking Balenciaga ruffle dress and chose to accessorize it with a beanie studded with Bulgari diamonds. On the other hand, ASAP Rocky first turned up in a patchwork, blanket-like ensemble by Eli Russel Linnetz and then dropped the blanket to reveal a neat black suit underneath. After seeing pictures of ASAP Rocky’s look, plenty of people started making hilarious memes about him.
2. Kim Kardashian
Kim Kardashian wore an outfit by Balenciaga, and we have to say- we’re not having it! Thanks to her odd look, she became the butt of all the online memes and was even compared to trash bags, Daffy Duck, Dementors, and other characters.
3. Dan Levy
Dan Levy of Schitt’s Creek fame wore a striking Loewe outfit that featured artworks by the late David Wojnarowicz. The designers even donated to Visual AIDS to honor the collaboration with David.

We cannot talk about this year’s MET Gala without mentioning the incredibly talented and versatile Lil Nas X. The Old Town Road singer showed up in a striking golden versace cloak and rocked a jewel studded bodysuit under it.
5. Kendall Jenner
Kendall Jenner showed up at the MET Gala in a custom-made dress designed by Givenchy. Her near sheer look was appreciated by many of her fans.
6. Iman
Iman looked almost ethereal in her incredible Harris Reed gown and large headdress. The stunning model and wife of the late David Bowie truly looked like a golden Goddess in her ensemble.
7. Maisie Williams
Maisie Williams of Game Of Thrones fame looked almost unrecognizable. Her striking and bold Gothic look was courtesy of the designer Thom Browne.
8. Rosalia
The talented Con Altura singer wore a striking siren red creation by Rick Owens and showcased her Spanish heritage through her outfit.
9. Pete Davidson
Pete Davidson was definitely one of the few on the red carpet who could challenge gender norms with his black skirt. The comedian was dressed by the legendary Thom Browne.
10. Grimes
Grimes challenged every attendee to a duel of outfits in her sparkling Iris Van Herpen outfit. The outfit was complete with a sword and metallic mask. Talk about futuristic!
11. Lorde
Lorde wore a simple light white jacket with colorful beads embedded in it. The outfit was designed by Bode and included a matching dress with a short train. Most notably, the Solar Power singer was sporting a fashionable headpiece that truly made her look like a true queen!
12. Kid Cudi
Kid Cudi took emo fashion to a whole new level with his punk-inspired outfit. The Day N Night rapper was spotted wearing see-through Louis Vuitton pants and a SPACE necklace worth 1.6 million dollars.
13. Jennifer Lopez
Of course, you should trust Jenny from the Block to bring it! The gorgeous Maid In Manhattan actress wore a stunning brown outfit with a plunging neckline and sparkling silver stilettos. Jennifer’s outfit was designed by Ralph Lauren.
14. Hailee Steinfeld
Hailee Steinfeld was wearing a futuristic and super elegant dress created by Iris Van Herpen. The Love Myself singer styled her hair in a long, poker-straight blonde bob and totally slayed the entire look.

Shawn Mendes turned up at the MET Gala in a Michael Kors outfit. The handsome Stitches singer was seen attending the event with his girlfriend, Camilla Cabello.

The model and mom of one wore a unique custom-made white gown by Prada. We love the gorgeous reddish-burgundy shade of her hair.

The gorgeous Us actress was spotted in a stunning Cobalt blue denim creation by Atelier Versace. Her gravity-defying dreadlocks paid homage to African culture and showed off the beautiful natural texture of her hair.

Justin Bieber wore an interesting suit with extra baggy trousers designed by Drew House, while his wife, Hailey, wore a black Saint Laurent dress with a plunging neckline and Tiffany & Co diamonds on her neck.

Alexandra Ocasio Cortez was seen in a white gown designed by Brother Vellies. The politician wore a simple outfit with the words “Tax The Rich” written on it in Red. We have to say; she really killed the look!

Billie Eilish totally slayed the MET Gala carpet in this stunning creation by Oscar De La Renta. Her long train trailed on the red carpet as she posed for the cameras.
A lot of famous regulars like Ariana Grande, Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus, Zendaya, Beyonce, Lady Gaga, and more decided to skip, which left a lot of fans disappointed.
