1. When First Night Prep Turned Embarrassing

“After dating for 5 years, we finally decided to get married. So, obviously, ours was a love marriage. The wedding was a grand affair for both our families. After the wedding, the second day was supposed to be our first official night together. Excited, Tanya and I entered the bedroom. We had expected our cousins to deck up the room for the occasion but it resembled its usual self. We ignored our expectation thinking that it might just be a movie thing. Just when I held my wife and was about to plant a kiss on her, I heard my mother knock on the door. She walked in with a box full of flower petals and started decorating the bed right in front of us. We both wanted to just laugh our hearts out while my mom was doing the job. Geez! It was such an embarrassing moment for us.”

2. The Error In Bouquet Toss

“I had the perfect church wedding with the man of my dreams. I’m sure you know about the ritual wherein the bride tosses her bouquet of flowers in the air and the girl who manages to catch the bouquet is said to be next in the line to get married. When you’re in your 20s, it’s a cute, fun ritual. But when you hit the 30s, this ritual is taken seriously alright, and that’s exactly how one of my bridesmaids took it. She jumped, while still wearing her stilettos, to catch the bouquet I had tossed. While she did manage to catch the bouquet, she broke her nose by landing on it. And the next thing I know, there I was at the hospital, in my wedding gown, sitting beside her as she tended to her now-broken nose.”

3. When Being Filmy Didn’t Work

“After a hectic day at work, when I came home, I saw that my wife had fallen asleep on the couch. My first thought was to get her a blanket. Then, I thought I’ll lift her up and take her to the room so that she could sleep comfortably. But I just couldn’t lift her up. And in the process, she woke up and started laughing. Honestly, it was the most embarrassing moment of my life.”

4. Don’t Eat Too Much In Your Own Wedding

“I’m a foodie and I made sure that at my wedding, the dinner menu was the star of the evening. Naturally, I ended up eating a lot after all the wedding rituals were done. My wife had warned me against it and asked me to eat light, but I didn’t pay any heed to her. When we reached our room to celebrate our first night, the first thing I did was to rush to the washroom. Turns out, I had loose motions. The bathroom stink was so great that it made its way inside the bedroom as well. My wife sprayed some room freshener and said, ‘let’s just sleep’.”

5. When The Cheesiness Backfired

“My husband is a hopeless romantic. He even comes up with really cheesy lines to get me in the mood. On a Sunday afternoon, while we were watching TV, he pointed out that his “lips are dry”. I thought it must be one of his cheesy lines and leaned forward to kiss him. And then he pointed out that he meant that my lips were really dry. Such a bummer!”

6. The Naked Encounter

“Mine was an arranged marriage. I’d made it clear to my spouse before the wedding that I will need some time to get to know him first before we get physically intimate. He agreed to it too. It was the second day after our wedding. When I woke up, my husband wasn’t around, so I thought he would’ve headed downstairs for breakfast. So I undressed and walked into the bathroom, all naked, to take a shower. I froze when I saw my husband was already taking a shower, in all his natural glory. It was the most embarrassing moment of my life.”
