What happens when an NRI bride dances to the tunes of Bollywood numbers? It becomes a rage like none other! If you still haven’t been bitten by the viral video bug, you must watch this to know what I am talking about.

A New York-based Indian bride danced away to glory, and the video is being shared like crazy in social media circles. Meet Payal Kakadia Pujji, owner of an American fitness startup, who enthralled her wedding guests when she danced to popular Bollywood numbers – Dil Deewana and Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi.

In a traditional golden lehenga, Payal charmed everyone with her dance moves and the video has so far received over a million views and counting. With 1.1 million views on Facebook, the video has gone viral and become the talking point on the internet.

Indian weddings are no less than the big fat weddings that Bollywood movies portray. Popular Hindi numbers are integral to sangeet ceremonies where even guests join in to shake a leg. The sangeet event is a gala affair that happens just before the wedding. The dance is basically to give the bride and groom’s family a break from all the stress they go through while planning the wedding.

The entire family comes together to let their hair down and dances like nobody’s watching. In fact, the sangeet isn’t an impromptu event. A lot of preparation and rehearsals go into it with even the costumes decided beforehand.

The sangeet also ups the glam quotient of the wedding. A few rich families even hire Bollywood actors to give a stage performance and be a part of their sangeet ceremony. In fact, several actors, including Katrina Kaif, Malaika Arora, Priyanka Chopra, Ranveer Singh, Salman Khan, Neha Dhupia, and Shah Rukh Khan, are known to dance at weddings.

Wondering how much these actors charge on an average? Well, although we can’t surely vouch for the accuracy of these rates, this is what it looks like going by the news available on the internet.

Shah Rukh Khan – INR 3-4 crore
Malaika Arora Khan – INR 12-15 lakh
Yaana Gupta – INR 3.5-5 lakh
Hrithik Roshan – INR 2.5 crore
Salman Khan – INR 2 crore
Akshay Kumar – INR 2.5 crore
Katrina Kaif – INR 2 crore
Priyanka Chopra – INR 2 crore
Ranveer Singh – INR 1 crore

Disclaimer: These are only approximate prices declared on public platforms. If you are serious about hiring them, please contact their PRs directly. By the way, a few actors have now stopped dancing at weddings.

If you don’t want some celebrity to steal the glory and rather prefer to have fun with family members, why not plan a sangeet? There need not be a celebrity in your wedding for it to become the talk of the town. The case in point is that of this Indian bride in New York. She just decided to be herself and have some pure fun, and look how she is trending!

So, all set to shake a leg? Let’s help you plan the event. What better songs than peppy dance numbers from Indian Bollywood movies to groove to?
