Whether you were a child in the early 2000s or you were an angsty teen going through the motions, there were a couple of shows that were relatable to all. All those of us who grew up in the mid-90s and the mid to late 2000s fall under the category of millennials. And while we may not have watched every single show, we definitely did have a few shows in common. If the theme song of F.R.I.E.N.D.S. gives you a nostalgic feeling, then you aren’t the only one. So, we’ve compiled a list of ten TV shows that were on every millennial watch list:

1. Hannah Montana

Y’all know it was the ultimate soul-sister sitcom TV show for most of our teenage years. Disney definitely raked up Miley Cyrus’s popularity with this one since 2006. Hannah Montana is about a famous pop star who lives a double life. Her adventures are all about keeping her real identity secret and finding a balance between living a normal life and a celebrity’s blingy life. Not only was the show hilarious, but the other characters were equally loved and cherished. Like her father, Billy Ray, brother Jackson and best friend, Lily who got all the humor into the show. The soundtrack was iconic and so was the show. Nostalgia anyone?

2. Codename: Kids Next Door

Codename: Kids Next Door follows the adventures of a diverse group of ten-year-olds who fight for their rights and fight against the bad guys, mostly adults, and teenagers. If you were a kid watching this you could probably relate to their escapades and probably hated adults and older kids too! Watch this show if you want to watch the escapades of these young kids.

3. Buffy The Vampire Slayer

Buffy Summers is a woman who is a Slayer, a young woman who is bestowed with some mystical powers that help her fight demons and evil beings that ruled Earth before humans existed. After being expelled from her previous school and having a tough time getting along with people, Buffy and her mother move to the town of Sunnydale. The whole intention behind Buffy’s move is her trying to start a new life but she slowly has to come to terms with the fact that being a Slayer is in her destiny.

4. Teen Titans

Teen Titans is based on the popular DC comic book series of the same name and follows a team of teenage superheroes consisting of team leader, Robin the Boy Wonder, Starfire the alien princess, shapeshifter Beast Boy, and the dark witch, Raven. The super team live in a T-shaped tower and fight off evil forces like Slade, Trigon, and Brother Blood. The show was rebooted with a different style of animation but millennials can probably relate to the older show more.

5. Gilmore Girls

Gilmore Girls is a TV show that focuses on single mom Lorelai Gilmore and her teenage daughter Rory. Lorelai was a teenage mom and had her daughter at the age of 16. She moved to a small town in Connecticut and decided to raise Rory then. The show begins with Rory getting accepted into a prestigious and expensive high school in Hartford. Due to the expenses, Lorelai is forced to seek help from her estranged family. The show then follows the daily life of the young mother-daughter duo and how Lorelai tries to advance her career while Rory has to deal with the pressures surrounding the high school.

6. F.R.I.E.N.D.S

F.R.I.E.N.D.S is a much-loved 90s sitcom that truly needs no introduction. We doubt there is a single person who exists on this planet who has never heard of this show. But if you genuinely have not, the show follows the lives of six friends, Monica, Ross, Rachel, Phoebe, Chandler, and Joey who live in Manhattan. The series follows the friends’ lives as they deal with love, divorce, heartbreaks, job losses, marriage, and other kinds of drama. It’s probably one of the most famous and well-loved shows on our list.

7. The Big Bang Theory

The Big Bang Theory is based around the lives of Sheldon and Leonard, two brilliant physicists who are excellent at what they do, but aren’t as excellent when it comes to dealing with love and relationships. All of this changes when a young and free-spirited aspiring actress and waitress named Penny moves across the hall from them. While Penny tries to show them that there is a life outside books, the guys are much more content spending their nights playing board games and video games with their equally socially awkward friends Raj and Howard.

8. Courage The Cowardly Dog

Courage The Cowardly Dog focuses on the adventures of a cowardly dog who has to overcome his own fears in order to defend his adoptive mother, Muriel from being killed. While there are plenty of humorous moments in this show we can’t deny the fact that the show is pretty darn scary at times and most of us probably had terrible nightmares after watching it.

9. Flintstones

“Flintstones meet the Flintstones, they’re a modern Stone Age family.” If you remember this adorable theme song, you probably remember the hilarious show and how much fun it was to watch it. The show features Fred Flintstone, a hard-working man who works at a quarry (and hates it) and loves returning home to his beautiful wife, Wilma, and baby girl Pebbles. Fred enjoys bowling and golfing and also bullying his naive and innocent neighbor, Barney Rubble. Barney’s wife, Battery is besties with Wilma. During the show, Betty and Barney adopt a super-strong young boy named Bamm-Bamm who also becomes best friends with Pebbles. While this show is historically inaccurate (dinosaurs and humans did not exist at the same time), we still love it!

10. Full House

Full House follows the tale of a widowed broadcaster named Danny Tanner who decides to raise his three young daughters along with some help from his rock-loving brother-in-law and somewhat crazy best friend. His daughters are D.J (Donna Joe), Stephanie, and the youngest, Michelle Tanner. We love this show because not only is it heartwarming but it also has some bittersweet moments. This show introduced us to the adorable twins, Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen, who play toddler Michelle Tanner but it also introduced us to the ever-so-suave, John Stamos.

And there you have it, ten shows that every millennial would find heavily relatable. We still remember the anticipation of catching up with these uber interesting and entertaining shows while trying to keep up with all the homework. While you might not have watched all of these, we’d definitely recommend that you do as they will bring back some great 90s feelings and nostalgia. Which was your favorite childhood show?
