You know why most of the girls are unhappy with their bodies? Because their idea of perfect and beautiful is to look like the calendar girls. We understand your desires, and we know you put in a lot of effort to look like that. How many of you actually have that kind of body but can’t flaunt it because of petty reasons like dark skin down under? Forget about bikinis and shorts, how many of you have felt embarrassed and uncomfortable with their pigmented girl parts, particularly in the bedroom at that much-awaited moment? It is disheartening. But not anymore. Here are 7 things you can do to get rid of the pigmentation in the pubic areas. And, I am sure, these 7 ingredients will make you fall in love with your bodies if you use them in the right way.

1. Almond Scrub

Almonds, we all know, are a great source of protein and Vitamin E, both of which play a significant role in skin vitality. Apart from hydrating the skin and keeping it supple, they also improve the complexion. You could soak almonds, grind them, mix the paste with a dollop of yogurt or apply just the almond paste on the affected areas. Massage this paste onto the inner thighs and the bikini line. You could go ahead and munch a handful while the almond scrub sits on your skin (not kidding). Leave it on overnight and wash off in the morning to see visible changes. Alternatively, you can roast the almonds instead of soaking them. Apparently, researchers say that almond skin has maximum polyphenol and antioxidant properties when it is roasted than when it is blanched or soaked (1). So, try out all the different ways and see what suits your needs the best.

2. Tomatoes

Tomatoes are red, you know why? They consist of a pigment called lycopene that imparts that red color to this fruit. This lycopene has antioxidant properties and is said to revive skin that has been damaged because of sunlight (2). This capacity of tomato to reverse photodamage is what makes it a potential skin lightener. Slice a tomato and rub it on all the affected areas or extract the pulp out of tomatoes and apply it on the areas with dark skin. Allow it to work for 10-15 minutes and rinse it thoroughly.

3. Mint Leaves

Mint leaves have a soothing and refreshing effect on the skin. Mint leaf juice is said to lighten the skin. To enjoy a blemish-free bikini area, crush the mint leaves and apply it to the affected areas. You could also add honey to the crushed mint leaves for extra benefits. Preferably, use raw and unrefined honey because it is laden with compounds that moisturize and brighten the skin. Leave the paste on for about 20 minutes and then rinse with water.

4. Orange Peel Powder

Another way to bid goodbye to hyperpigmented skin is to use an orange peel powder mask. These citrusy fruits have a therapeutic aroma, taste heavenly, and are excellent in reducing acne marks and hyperpigmentation. Dry the peels completely and grind them into a powder. Add 2 tbsps of this powder to 2 tbsps of yogurt with a dash of honey. Apply this generously to the bikini line and the other dark areas. After 15-20 minutes, wash with plain water. You could also add cold raw milk instead of yogurt. Use this three times in a week to see best results.

5. Lemon Juice

Speaking of citrus, we can’t miss out on the benefits that lemons bestow on our skin. The Vitamin C in lemon juice (and all citrus fruits for that matter) helps in reducing the free radical damage in our skin. Also, with increasing age, there are chances that your hyperpigmentation increases. Also, there is constant friction in the bikini line, buttocks, and inner thighs, which causes skin irritation. Lemon juice will take care of all those issues. It not only lightens the skin but also removes the upper dead skin layer. Lemons sting a little on the skin but are natural antiseptics and hence clear acne or breakouts, if any. People suffering from buttne, consider using lemons on the affected area to rid yourself of it. Apply a few drops of lemon juice on the affected area, massage it gently, leave it on for 15-20 minutes and then wash it off with plain water. Rinse immediately if the burning sensation is intense and persistent.

6. Potato Juice

Raw potatoes consist of a compound called catecholase that has lightening and anti-aging effects on our skin. Rub a slice of potato and apply that starchy juice on the dark and hyperpigmented patches in the pubic area. As an alternative method, you could mash the potato and apply the pulp on the pubic area. Wash it off after 15 to 20 minutes. Since potato juice is not very harsh on the skin, you could apply the juice every day or once in two days to see quick results.

7. Aspirin

Wasn’t aspirin for a headache? Most of us know that aspirin is an anti-inflammatory and a blood thinning agent. But what many of us don’t know is, apart from popping these pills, you could also use it to get rid of acne and pigmentation. Crush 2 or 3 tablets and add water to make a fine paste. Also, you could add honey and yogurt to make a relaxing mask. Apply it down there and leave it on until it dries. Rinse with water as usual. If you have shaved your pubic area recently, there could have been multiple microscopic injuries on the skin, and hence, it is not advisable to use this aspirin paste over there. You could try this three days after you have shaved.

Pick any one from the above ingredients and use it regularly to get rid of dark pubic areas and inner thighs permanently. Comment below and tell me which of the remedies you have tried and how they worked for you.
