Every 90s kid remembers Raveena’s titillating and sizzling dance in the song Tip Tip Barsa Pani. The gorgeous and uber-talented actress stole the show when she showed up in a drenched chiffon saree and proceeded to dance the night away. Besides being an incredibly talented dancer, Raveena has some major acting chops too. The Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi actress is also the recipient of two Filmfare awards and one National Film Award. Despite enduring a difficult time in her love life during the 90s, things changed for Raveena when she met and fell in love with her husband, Anil Thadani. Never Too Late For Love
The actress met and began dating film distributor Anil Thadani and the pair were engaged in November of 2003. Since they met in a professional space, the couple initially kept their relationship low key and under wraps. After the pair dated for a short while, Anil proposed to Raveena and the pair tied the knot in a traditional Sindhi and Punjabi wedding in February 2004. The couple was blessed with a daughter, Rasha in 2005 and later a son Ranbirvardhan in 2008.
The adorable duo has now completed 16 years of marriage and is still very much in love with each other as is obvious from Raveena’s Instagram account. The actress recently took to the gram to share adorably mushy and PDA-filled pictures of her and her husband at her niece’s wedding ceremony. Raveena looked absolutely magnetic in an emerald green lehenga and her husband wore a classic cream sherwani. On the day of her 16th anniversary, the actress shared a super romantic collage that she had made of her and her husband’s most special moments. She thanked him for all the love and blessings he had provided her and spoke about how they’ve completed 16 years but have many lifetimes ahead of them.
In an interview with a leading magazine, Raveena’s husband, Anil Thadani revealed how he knew they were destined to be together. He spoke candidly about how their relationship was unexpected but things just seemed to fall right into place. Before the pair knew it, they were engaged and made plans to have a quiet ceremony with loved ones. He further revealed how Raveena is a very family-oriented person and how she cares deeply for her children. He spoke about how despite running the house and handling so many responsibilities, she always prioritizes their marriage.
One Big Happy Family
In 1995, at the young age of 21, Raveena made headlines when she made the bold decision to adopt two young girls who had lost their parents, Chhaya (11) and Pooja (8). Raveena adopted the pair as a single mother and raised them both single-handedly. Chhaya and Pooja were Raveeena’s cousins’ children but their parents tragically passed away. According to Raveena, she adopted them because she was unhappy with the way their guardians were raising them. She spoke about how she was always open to the idea of adoption and how she and her mother would visit orphanages over the weekend. The actress spoke about how many people told her nobody would want to marry her since she came with “excess baggage”. She revealed that her children, her dogs and she come as a packaged deal and that she is happy that her husband and her adopted daughters share a good relationship.
Considering that Raveena herself was fresh out of her teens when she decided to adopt, the fact that she raised those two girls by herself is extremely commendable. The stunning actress recently became a granny for the first time as her oldest daughter, Chhaya delivered a healthy baby boy. Raveena is often seen posting pictures with her beloved grandchild and talking about how they share the same expressions. Raveena often shares images of herself with all her children and always captions the pictures “Me and my brood”. Considering she’s only 45 years old, she’s probably the coolest naani a little boy could ask for.
When asked about her thoughts on adoption, she revealed that she has never regretted her decision for a moment. She said that every moment she shared with her children was precious. The actress added, “From the time I held the girls’ hands when we were taking our first flight, to walking them down the aisle, to holding my first grandchild in my arms, every moment has been priceless. They love my biological children, Rasha and Ranbirvardhan.”
While Raveena has been away from the big screens for some time, her kindness and big heart is what makes fans constantly watch her move.
