Rekha Refuses To Pose Next To Big B’s Portrait; Says It’s Danger Zone
Bollywood and rumors go hand in hand. Celebrity news that the media writes about is not entirely true. Sometimes it is shockingly false and the celebs have no idea about what is written about them until the news reaches public eyes. The most common gossip columns revolve around celebrity relationships and affairs. It is not something that started recently; it has always been a part of the industry. One such relationship rumor that is old but still gold is between the veteran actress Rekha and Bollywood’s Big B Amitabh Bachchan. After all these years, they still make headlines about their alleged relationship, although it was never confirmed by the two of them.
On February 8th, 2020, Dabboo Ratnani, the celebrity photographer hosted his 25th-year annual calendar launch and it was attended by several Bollywood A-listers like Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Govinda, Aishwarya Rai, and others. His calendar shoot featured many new-age actors like Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi Pednekar, Kiara Advani, Ananya Panday, and Kriti Sanon. It also featured well-established Bollywood actors like Abhishek Bachchan, Saif Ali Khan, Aishwarya Rai, Sunny Leone, Vidya Balan, and Jacqueline Fernandez.
With so many Bollywood celebrities gracing the event, it was a night to remember but the highlight of the event was what happened when the legendary actress Rekha was posing for the paparazzi. As she walked into the room with Dabboo Ratnani’s daughter, the reporters asked her to stop and pose when she neared a corner. In just a split second, the actress realized that there was a portrait of Amitabh Bachchan hanging on the wall behind her and she quickly turned around and walked away saying, “Yaha danger zone hai” and made the whole room burst into laughter. The sassy but cute way in which Rekha replied won everybody’s heart.
Rekha And Amitabh: A Love Affair
This is not the first time Rekha walked away from a portrait of Big B. Last year during Dabboo Ratnani’s calendar launch, the actress was posing for the cameras with the portrait backdrops. The minute she realized she was standing in front of an Amitabh Bachchan portrait, she walked away like she was almost repulsed by it and it was hilarious. It has been more than just a few decades now and their alleged love affair is still a mystery.
They met for the first time on the sets of Do Anjaane in 1976. Amitabh Bachchan was already married to Jaya Bachchan at the time. There were rumors that they met in a bungalow that belonged to a friend of Rekha’s and kept their relationship a secret for a while. Two years later, during the shoot of Ganga Ki Saugandh, Amitabh Bachchan reportedly lost his cool on one of the actors who behaved inappropriately with Rekha. After this incident, the news about their alleged affair took the limelight and grabbed a lot of attention. The two of them were constantly asked about the rumored love affair but they denied it. However, the speculations continued and what made things worse was when director Yash Chopra confirmed their relationship in one of the interviews. The Silsila director admitted that the duo was in a relationship long before Silsila and this news took the media by storm.

Silsila was the last movie they worked in together and since then these two legendary stars have gone their separate ways. Many have wondered what the truth behind this alleged affair is but no one knows the truth to date.
Moving On To Glorious Days
Both Rekha and Amitabh have moved on to make a better life for themselves, both professionally and personally. According to reports, Amitabh Bachchan was barred to work with Rekha as per Jaya Bachchan’s instructions. However, in an interview recently, Jaya Bachchan was asked if she has a problem with them working together and she said that she does not have any problem. She said, “Why should I mind? But I feel it will be more like a sensation than actual work. And that’s a pity. Both of them probably realize it will go beyond work.”
Rekha acted in super hit films like Koi… Mil Gaya and Krrish, among others. In an interview, Rekha was asked if she loves Bollywood’s Big B and she said, “Absolutely! That’s a dumb question!” and then said that she never met anyone like him in her life and anyone who knows him will fall completely and hopelessly in love with him and she is not different.
Rekha married Mukesh Aggarwal, a Delhi-based industrialist in 1990 but in less than a year she lost him. He was mentally ill and ended up taking his own life. It seems like Rekha has had no luck when it comes to love and we are proud of her for being strong and independent. She always looks gorgeous in sarees and has inspired many young actresses like Vidya Balan, among others, who have openly said that Rekha is their role model. The actress is over 60 years old and has created a legacy in the entertainment industry and we are happy that she did not let “life” stop her from pursuing her passion and dreams.
