They have also been taking the internet by storm with their TikTok videos and now once again they have managed to make news and set couple goals for fans everywhere as they walked together while twinning at the Lakme Fashion Week 2020.
The Lakme Fashion Week 2020 hit its 20th anniversary as one of the biggest fashion events in the country. It was a five-day-long splendid event that took place in Mumbai and showcased 30 Gen Next designers who debuted their collections at the event over the past 20 years. Seasoned designers like Manish Malhotra and Sabyasachi were some among the others who came together for a nostalgic showcase of a modern spin on their first-ever designs. Several celebrities walked the ramp in exquisite designs and among them were one of the cutest couples on the block, Riteish and Genelia Deshmukh. Apart from couple goals, they also gave us major twinning goals as they walked the ramp for LFW 2020.
This year’s theme for the LFW was #BetterIn3D and the event saw some ingenious and exclusive designs by esteemed designers like Manish Malhotra, Amit Aggarwal, Kunal Rawal, and Pankaj & Nidhi, among others. Designer Ritu Kumar collaborated with EcoVero and made a comeback to the runway. Riteish and Genelia walked the ramp for designer Kunal Anil Tanna in a checkered ensemble. The adorable Genelia wore checkered coordinates while her dearest hubby wore a checkered sweatshirt with blue pants. They looked charming and delightful.

A Fairytale Love Story
It was the year 2002 when they first met for the test shoot of Tujhe Meri Kasam. Genelia was just 16 years old at that time and arrived at Hyderabad airport for the shoot where she met Riteish, who was 24 years old. They got along very well on the sets of the film and soon became best friends on and off the sets. In an interview, Genelia said that the minute she spoke to him, she realized that he was a nice person. She also said, “I found it endearing how he was so respectful of my parents and elders.” She said that Riteish binds people on the set and even though she did not know anything about films, he made it look easy.
This fairytale of best friends falling in love with each other happened slowly as they got to know each other. There was no formal proposal, no candlelight dates or anything so cheesy. They got to know each other and slowly but irrevocably fell in love. Their love story is every girl’s dream of marrying their best friend and these two cuties made it look like a piece of cake.
They met in 2002, became best friends almost instantly and over time, fell in love. After a nine-year-long relationship, they decided to tie the knot in 2012. They had a magnificent Marathi-style wedding and then a traditional Christian church wedding which was attended by Bollywood’s big stars like Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan.
The real beauty of their relationship is that the youngest couple of Bollywood grew up together, quite literally. Not only were they the best of friends who stood by each other but they do not know when the “love” officially happened. It’s just that they grew fond of each other and decided to build a beautiful life together.
