Like most of us, cricket players too have to deal with social distancing and isolation. Now that Coronavirus has made its way to the shores of India, the government has announced a lockdown to ensure they curb the spread of the virus. While the government has stated that the lockdown will last until the third of May, many states like Telangana have decided to extend it further. Due to this, the much-awaited IPL 2020 has been postponed to ensure there isn’t a spike in COVID 19 cases. During these critical times, many cricket players are taking the time to spend their free moments with their families and other loved ones.
Give Her Some Attention!
Many cricket players like Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni have now taken to Instagram to spread awareness about the virus and encourage their fans to stay indoors. The talented cricket player was expected to make a comeback during this IPL season but thanks to the virus, the plans are on hold. Dhoni and his adorable family of three have shifted back to Ranchi to spend some quality time in each other’s company. The doting father of Ziva, took to Instagram to share adorable pictures of himself and his daughter spending time together.

His wife, Sakshi Dhoni recently shared a humorous picture of herself pretending to nibble at his toes and joked about wanting attention from her clearly distracted hubby. She captioned the image with, “Times when you crave attention from #mrsweetie ! Video games vs Wife ( Disclaimer : closest friends of ours will understand this pik)”. Obviously, the picture was shared in good humor and meant to be relatable to other wives out there, but many of her followers were quick to judge the couple and pass unflattering comments on them.
Many made jokes about how she was “in the mood” and some cracked jokes about who shot the picture. It got to the point where Sakshi had to limit the comments on her post as many people were posting inappropriate comments and giving the couple unnecessary flak. However, a lot of their fans and fan pages appreciated the picture and called them cute. Many comments stated that the pair rarely share cute pictures together and that the picture was legitimately funny.
A Love Story That Can Make Anybody Envious
Although MS Dhoni’s biopic, MS Dhoni The Untold Story, gave us a different side to the story, the real love story between Sakshi and MS Dhoni is even more epic. The pair had known each other since childhood and had even studied in the same school. Their fathers worked in the same company together and they shared a cordial relationship growing up. However, unfortunately for the pair, Sakshi shifted back to Dehradun and they lost touch for a long period of time. Despite their circumstances, destiny had another plan laid out for them and they reconnected with one another after a gap of nearly a decade in 2007.
The Indian Cricket team was in Kolkata to play against the Pakistani cricket team. Sakshi was interning at the hotel the team was staying at during the time. Dhoni’s manager, Yudhajit Dutta introduced the pair to one another and when Sakshi left to return home, Dhoni asked his manager for her number. Sakshi admitted to thinking that Dhoni was initially trying to prank her when he started texting her but eventually she realized it was her childhood friend himself! After two months of attempting to woo and chase Sakshi, she finally agreed to go on a date with him. The pair started dating officially in March 2008 and Sakshi even attended Dhoni’s Birthday bash.
As Dhoni isn’t one to air out his personal life, the pair kept their nuptial plans secret from the media. In July of 2010, the couple tied the knot in a lavish ceremony with their close family and friends. The pair tied the knot in Sakshi’s native, Dehradun and she rocked a gorgeous Sabyasachi creation for the event.
Although Sakshi is a huge fan of Dhoni’s cricket playing skills and loves cheering for him from the stands, she prefers keeping a low profile. Dhoni has often joked that as long as he plays cricket, Sakshi will be his third priority in life. He ranks his country and his parents first. Many of Dhoni’s fans believe he has become a better cricket player after tying the knot with Sakshi and many are happy to see the pair together. Sakshi gave birth to their adorable daughter, Ziva Dhoni in the year 2015 while Dhoni was in Australia playing for the World Cup. Sakshi even has Dhoni’s nickname inked below her ear.
