As the lockdown to fight against the Coronavirus spread continues, many celebrities have had to hunker down and take responsibility for their household activities. From Anushka Sharma giving Virat Kohli a haircut to Katrina sweeping her apartment, it’s fun to see celebrities dealing with the same problems as regular folk. Like many celebrities, Samantha Akkineni too has started harnessing her cooking skills during this pandemic. The Super Deluxe actress was seen cooking up a storm for her doting husband and later enjoying a nice glass of red with him. Read on to learn more about what this adorable pair have been up to:
Flip The Switch
Samantha Akkineni showcased her newly harnessed cooking skills on her Instagram story. The actress has not really been a fan of cooking and wasn’t the kind you’d spot in the kitchen. In fact, her mother-in-law, Amala Akkineni revealed in an interview that neither she, nor Samantha step inside the kitchen and it is Samantha’s father-in-law, Nagarjuna who cooks. Amala revealed that her husband is a very good chef and that neither of the women need to cook since he does a very good job at the task. According to Amala, Nagarjuna truly enjoys cooking and believes the kitchen is his territory. She added that all she does is provide her husband with the essentials required for cooking (What an interesting twist!). Amala also spoke in depth about her charming bond with her daughter-in-law and stated that she sees her as her own daughter rather than as her son’s wife. Talk about an anti monster-in-law!
It is also quite twisted that people choose to grill Amala about her daughter-in-laws skills in the kitchen. After all, both Naga Chaitanya and Samantha are equally talented actors. So, how is it fair that Samantha is constantly being grilled about her cooking abilities and not her husband? Whether she wants to enter the kitchen or not is completely her choice. More so, they are well off enough to hire a cook if necessary.
A Love Story For The Ages
Before Samantha and Naga Chaitanya tied the knot, the pair dated for eight years. The adorable couple first met on the sets of their film Yeh Maaya Chesave. However, at the time, Samantha was in a relationship with Siddharth and Naga Chaitanya was dating Shruti Haasan. The pair started getting cozy around 2015, a few years after breaking up with their partners at the time. They were often spotted in the town together and even attended the movie premiere of one of Samantha’s films. However, it was only in September of 2016 that the pair confirmed that they were seeing each other. Samantha confessed to the dating rumors at the time but revealed that the couple would not be tying the knot anytime soon. In December of 2016, Naga Chitanya popped the question and Samantha was overjoyed. After getting engaged in January of 2017, the pair revealed that they had actually been dating since November of 2015. Naga Chaitanya and Samantha officially tied the knot in October 2017 in a gorgeous traditional wedding in Goa. The pair respected both their religions and had a traditional Telugu wedding as well as a Christian wedding.
In an interview with a leading publication, Samantha admitted that it took them eight years to realize their love for one another and added, “Because there were times when I really liked him, and he was not in that space. And there were times when we wanted to work it out, but external factors. It took us a very long time to be in the same space.” She also stated that marrying Naga Chaitanya was the best decision of her life.
Future Plans
While their fans are eagerly waiting to hear the news that the pair are expecting, the two have revealed that they don’t have plans to start a family anytime soon. The couple seem to be happy in the company of one another and have shied away from discussing too much about their personal life. When quizzed about having babies, Samantha stated both her and Naga Chaitanya have “fixed a timeline” for when they plan on having children. Samantha spoke about how when she has a child, she would want that child to be her entire universe and spoke candidly about having a rough childhood. The actress added that those who go through a rough childhood would understand what she was speaking about and understand her reasons for wanting to wait before having children. She stated that she would want to provide her child with all the things she did not have as a child. She also spoke about how she has massive amounts of respect for working mothers. The actress stated that she would want to spend all her time with her child and would probably take a break for the first few years of their life.
It’s adorable to see two of our favorite actors get together and give us major relationship goals.
