Falling in love with someone must feel like the most magical experience there is, but not everything is sunshine and rainbows. Many people have to wade through a series of unsuitable partners before they meet “The One”. Celebrities are no exception to this rule as it is evident by the number of break-ups and link-ups we see in the media. Recently, Eega starlet, Samantha Akkineni opened up about suffering through an abusive relationship in her past. Read on to know what she had to say.
A Romance Gone Sour
While promoting her film, Mahanati (2018), which is a biopic based on the life of veteran actress, Savitri, Samantha spoke about her past candidly. The actress compared her relationship with an ex-boyfriend to that of Savitri and superstar, Gemini Ganesan’s. The actress spoke about how she would have been in the same condition as Savitri if she had not moved away from her previous relationship. She mentioned how she walked out of her relationship when she first sensed it would end badly. She went on to praise her husband, Naga Chaitanya, whom she first met on the sets of Yeh Maaya Chesave. According to Samantha, she feels blessed to have a gem of a person like Naga Chaitanya in her life. Although she didn’t address which ex-boyfriend she was referring to, many fans suspected it to be with actor Siddharth.
In a news report, a close friend of Samantha’s revealed that Siddharth was said to be a bit of a womanizer and Samantha grew suspicious of his proximity to his co-stars. He was also said to be very controlling and did not appreciate Samantha’s glamorous style and “friendly” behavior. According to certain sources, Samantha was very serious about her relationship with the actor and had even contemplated marriage in the future. As Samantha had said earlier, she chose to walk away once she realized she was being mistreated. However, the drama didn’t stop there. Once, Siddharth received news about her new relationship with Naga Chaitanya, he posted a very shady tweet that was subtly targeted at the new couple. The tweet read, “Nagoor biriyani ulundur pettai la irukara naai ku dan kidaikumna adha yaarum matha mudiyadhu.” A rough translation of that would be, “If a street dog in Ulundurpettai is destined to get Nagoor biryani, no one can stop it.” Both Naga Chaitanya and Samantha chose not to address the tweet (1).
Finding True Love
After meeting in 2009, Samantha and Naga Chaitanya decide to be in a relationship. The adorable duo dated for around six years before they officially tied the knot in a fabulously grand wedding in October, 2017. The couple had a Hindu as well as a Christian wedding ceremony. Their wedding was truly a star-studded event and was attended by many famous celebrities across Tollywood as well as Bollywood. Ever since their nuptials, the pair drive fans wild with their adorable PDA-filled social media posts. The actress also has a hilarious sense of humor and often captions their pictures in a funny tone. In 2019, the actress posted a cute picture of her dancing and Naga Chaitanya watching her dance. She captioned it with, “My quiet husband thought he could live his life peacefully… just slipping by… god said ‘Gotcha’ @chayakkineni.”
When Naga Chaitanya was quizzed about his relationship with Samantha during a recent interview he too was all praises for her. He mentioned how they befriended each other when they were both single but started to like one another after spending a lot of time together. He spoke about how he felt like he was in the right space mentally to settle down with somebody. Starting a family was always one of the priorities, according to him and he felt like Samantha was the only person he’d want to do it with (Awwwwwww).
Future Family Plans?
In a recent video that went viral, Samantha was seen blushing and smiling cutely when a fan blessed her and hoped she had a baby soon. Another fan jokingly asked Samantha if she was having a baby boy or a baby girl. In a 2019 interview, her fabulous hubby shared that the “good news” might come sooner than later. The handsome actor admitted that he is in a very good place and is very thankful for all that he has. The talented young actors have been surrounded with pregnancy rumors for ages now but have always addressed it in a joking manner online. Samantha admitted that she has massive respect for working mothers and stated that she plans on being a very doting mother and caring deeply for her child. She even revealed she had a not-so-very rosy childhood and would want her child to not suffer the same fate.
Samantha’s story shows us that one bad breakup is not the end of the world. Her relationship with Naga Chaitanya seems to be picture perfect and the couple looks like they couldn’t be happier.
