Like many other parents stuck at home due to the lockdown, Sameera, too, had a few of her own challenges to face. She spoke about the uncertainty and helplessness she felt during this time and how it was the most challenging thing she had to go through. She added that she felt helpless because she was uncertain of how she would be able to protect her loved ones, especially her children, during a time like this. Sameera spoke about how the lockdown was quite tough on her and that at such times, she had to think less about herself and more about keeping those around her safe.

Sameera spoke about how her children were the first in her family to catch COVID-19, and in the process of taking care of them, both she and her husband fell sick as well. She stated that her kids’ symptoms had thankfully improved when she and her husband fell ill. Sameera’s husband, Akshai, and she took turns taking care of their children despite suffering from COVID-19 themselves. She added that if it weren’t for their incredible teamwork during this time, they would have suffered as well.

She also added that they should take care of themselves and invest their time in themselves and their kids. Sameera said that parents should give their kids vitamins and try not to let them be bogged down by all the stuff that’s going around outside. She stated that although it was challenging, it was important that parents need to do more than what they usually do to ensure that their children are calm and in a safe place.
