For fans of The Family Man, the latest trailer just dropped, and people are freaking out due to all the new additions. We get to see Manoj Bajpayee’s secret agent Srikanth Tiwari go up against Samantha Akkineni’s formidable Raji. All while trying to save his marriage and maintain a steady family life. Srikanth has to put up with his catchphrase spewing new millennial boss and suffer from FOMO (fear of missing out) watching his friends live their secret spy lives. The Family Man season 2 trailer is everything that was promised, and we cannot wait for the show to release. If you haven’t watched it yet, here’s what happens and how celebrities reacted to the trailer:
Samantha’s Role
The plotline of The Family Man revolved around intelligence officer Srikant Tiwari. Srikanth has to straddle the worlds of espionage and domesticity. He is just an ordinary man who is caught in the midst of extraordinary circumstances. In Season 2, we see award-winning Telugu actress Samantha Akkineni making her digital series debut as the antagonist. Samanta will play a pivotal role in season 2, and we cannot wait to see what she has in store for us. On her role in the show, the directors’ Raj and DK had stated that she would be playing an edgy and bold character. They added that her character would surprise all of her fans and that she had delivered her very best for the role.
Recently, Samantha had taken to social media to congratulate Raj and DK on the success of their new film. She had stated that their movie, Cinema Bandi, was full of hope and endearing. Samantha also made it a point to send three cheers to Cinema Bandi’s team and added that the film was a gem and a breath of fresh air. She ended her message on a light note by asking the filmmakers to release The Family Man season 2 soon.
Manoj Bajpayee, too, looked very optimistic about season 2 of the show and spoke about how the show would be different and much bigger than the previous season. According to the actor, season 2 was going to be an experience that was not easily forgettable. He stated that he usually reserved comments about his work because he believed that he would start to sound too flamboyant.
Celebrities React To The Trailer
The makers of The Family Man released a statement adding that the show’s trailer has received over five million views in less than five hours. The show went on to become number 1 on trending. Earlier, Manoj Bajpayee had expressed that he was nervous about how the trailer would be received, but it’s safe to say that he has no cause for any concern now. The trailer’s reception has mainly been positive, and many fans and celebrities have taken to their social media pages to express their views.
Anubhav Sinha, Adivi Sesh, Maniesh Paul, Hansal Mehta, and Taapsee Pannu are among many of the big names who have praised the filmmakers and trailer. On Twitter, Taapsee praised Manoj Bajpayee and added that he was outstanding. She also said that she could not wait to see Samantha Akkineni in this new avatar. Maniesh Paul also added his own inputs on the trailer and stated that he was waiting a long time for season 2 to drop. Maneish added that although it was a long wait, the trailer hit like fireworks. He also gave his best regards to the team behind the show and said that he could not wait to watch the show.
Although the show was meant to be released earlier in the year, the release was delayed due to the unstable state of the industry. Fans were unhappy with this, and many even demanded the filmmakers to release season 2 as soon as possible. During the initial announcement, directors Raj and DK addressed their fans and stated that they were humbled by all the love that the show had received. They added that they knew fans were eagerly waiting to hear about the show. The directors said they worked very hard to deliver a great season and stated that they were sure that fans would love the show.
The last season ended on a cliffhanger that left us wondering about the faith of some of the characters on the show. Many fans are also wondering if there is a connection between the characters of season 1’s Moosa and Samantha’s Raji since they are both anti-establishment and ruthless. Well, we’ll only find out if we actually watch the show. Season 2 will also see Sharad Kelkad, Priyamani, and Sharib Hashmi reprising their roles from season 1.
