As the years roll by, you may notice that your cheeks are slowly beginning to descend southwards. Saggy cheeks are natural and the more you age, the diminishing elasticity makes the cheeks swoop down. This is what makes you look more tired and aged than you are. Thankfully, there are some simple exercises that can help you push the sagging to the later years of your life. And the best part is, you can do these exercises even while sitting at your desk. Read on to learn some of the exercises that will help to keep your face looking younger for a long time!

1. The Fish Exercise

To do the exercise, begin by sucking your cheeks in and pursing your lips. For added tension, focus on drawing each lip toward the center. Next, gently pull your head back, directing your gaze towards the ceiling, which stretches your neck and elevates your chin. Hold this position for 5 seconds, allowing your neck muscles to experience a beneficial stretch. Repeat this 15 times on each side.

2. The Awkward Exercise

Start by creating an unusual expression by extending the corners of your mouth outward, ensuring your neck muscles also engage. Gaze into a mirror during this movement to observe the muscles in your neck becoming visible. Maintain this expression for 8 seconds. Next, shift your focus to the corners of your mouth, pulling them to the left and downward, holding this position for another 8 seconds. Repeat this on the opposite side as well, completing a total of 5 repetitions on each side.

3. Duck Face

Make a gentle duck face by slightly rolling out your lips without overly pursuing them. This should create noticeable tension, especially in your upper lip. While maintaining this lip posture, open and close your mouth repeatedly, allowing the tension to persist throughout the movement. Repeat the set 15 times.

4. Cheek Sculpting

For this exercise, tightly close your eyes while forming a broad, open-mouthed smile to engage all the muscles in your face, creating tension. Maintain this expressive pose for 3 seconds, then release and relax. Repeat this 15 times to help strengthen and tone the facial muscles.

5. Squeeze Your Eyes Shut

To do this exercise, form a broad smile with your mouth wide open, pressing your lips gently against your teeth. Next, using clean hands, place your fingers on your cheekbones and gently lift them upward to create a stretching sensation across your face. Maintain this position for 30 seconds. This exercise helps stimulate facial muscles and promotes a rejuvenating effect by improving facial tone and elasticity.

6. Chin Lifts

Begin this exercise by positioning your lower lip above the upper one. Try to raise it as high as possible without tilting your head backward. As you do this, you’ll notice tension building in your lower jaw. Maintain this pose for 5 seconds and then relax. To benefit from this exercise, repeat this 15 times. This can help to strengthen and tone the muscles in your lower jaw, which can contribute to a firmer facial appearance.

7. Jaw Drop Exercise

To do this exercise, start by closing your mouth and positioning your tongue against the inside of your lower front teeth. Then try to open your mouth as wide as possible while maintaining the pressure of your tongue against your teeth. Hold this wide-mouth position for 3 seconds before returning to the relaxed mouth position. Repeat this 15 times to promote jaw muscle flexibility and strengthen the muscles involved in this movement.

8. Side Pouts

There is nothing like a pout when it comes to making your jawline look more chiseled. The good news is, a pout can help you reduce the chances of having saggy cheeks. To do this, begin by puckering your lips as if you’re preparing for a kiss. Then, gently pull them to the left and maintain this position for 5 seconds before switching to the other side. After completing both sides, relax your facial muscles. For best results, repeat this sequence 8 times on each side, helping to enhance facial muscle flexibility and tone.

While saggy cheeks are a natural part of the aging process, these exercises empower you to take proactive steps in maintaining your facial vitality. These simple yet effective exercises can offer a practical way to address and combat the problem of saggy cheeks. Doing them every day will help you achieve a more youthful and vibrant appearance. By incorporating these exercises into your daily routine, you can strengthen and tone the facial muscles, enhance skin elasticity, and work towards achieving firmer, more defined cheeks.
