Can weddings get any fatter than Indian ones? I don’t think so. You will all agree with me on this if you watch Dalia’s Single-Shot Wedding Song video. The moment there is a ghar mein shaadi, it is almost like an apocalypse, and the entire house goes helter and skelter. After all, there’s just so much to do. Outlandish wedding song videos seemed to have joined the league and have landed straight on the to-do list of Indian weddings. We have seen extravagant sangeet videos, we have seen pets becoming bridesmaids, and boy, we have seen brides clad in shorts in place of lehengas. Speaking of Indian weddings, we have all stretched them a little too far and also contributed to AIB’s cynically humorous take on them. What are we left with now? What’s new?

This single-shot video definitely is. Imagine bringing an entire Indian family together and ensuring they all behave themselves in front of the camera. Like, there’s not even a single photograph of my family because it just is not possible to bring them into one frame and get them all to pose even for one picture. Everyone’s all over the place! But, this pretty Indian bride not only got all of them together, but she also managed to make them dance and act for the camera that refused to stop. Think of all the planning that would have gone into the whole thing, where each one of them just did exactly what they were supposed to do, without anything or anybody appearing artificial or made up.

It wouldn’t be fair to not talk about the cameraman. Had this been any other random video, honestly, the viewers would all have made a thousand memes about the fact that at 1:09, the cameraman happens to be seen in the mirror outside the bride’s room. But the feel-good factor that is present in this video makes me go all awww when the cameraman is accidentally seen in the mirror. Also, the technical prowess reflects throughout the video. I mean, look at the way they have used the door at 3:00 to obstruct our view while the bride’s making her way to the very Bollywood-ish jhoola in the last scene. It had been a combined effort and everyone featuring in the video along with the ones behind the video making (Magic Motion Media) deserve endless lauding for this perfectly synchronized performance.

I am still figuring out what the best part of this video is? Is it the color coordination (haldi waala yellow), the nach de ne saare in the background, the sweet family members who were just flawless, the gorgeous bride, or the fact that everything fell into place in just one single continuous shot? All of them, don’t you think so? You can’t afford to miss out on the “stay tuned” part towards the end. That sigh of relief in the bride’s voice and the way the family has finally loosened up is just too cute to watch. And guys, how can there be an Indian wedding and no dhol? That is almost impossible, right? The dhol was so very brief but made its presence felt just towards the very end of the video.

Now we know why there are 4,60,000 views (and counting) for this video that has a fusion of originality plus the much-awaited essence of Indian shaadis. All the brides and brides-to-be, are you ready with your out-of-the-world ideas for your wedding yet? Has this bride given you any #shaadigoals? A viewer of this video wants this family to be sent to Bollywood. What do you guys think about this lively and high-spirited family? Watch it now, and comment below.
