Sonu Sood has helped numerous people affected by the coronavirus pandemic. He’s not only helped migrant workers return to their home states but has also helped arrange for rescue operations. Besides these charitable endeavors, the actor has now helped around 300 migrants return back to their hometowns for the auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi. Sonu opened up about the situation with a leading Mumbai newspaper and spoke about how there were a few migrant workers who lived in the localities or Lalbaug and behind Siddhivinayak temple in Prabhadevi. He spoke about how he organized buses for them and took all the necessary permissions. The first batch of around 300 people has already left the city and the second batch is due to leave soon. Here is how Sonu has been helping to reunite families and survive through the pandemic:

Not only is Sonu Sood rescuing migrant workers in our own country but he is helping across international waters as well. The Jodhaa Akbar actor helped evacuate medical students from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Philippines, and Russia. Around eleven thousand people have been returned home through Sonu’s initiative according to reports.

Sonu, who shares two young sons with his wife Sonali, opened up about how his sons feel about his good deeds and helping nature. He added that he feels great to know that his sons will carry on his good deed as they grow older. He stated that they feel joy in giving back to society and hope that they will continue the charitable work. Sonu himself learned how to be a charitable person from his simple upbringing in the town of Moga. Sonu’s father was also a very charitable person and would hold Langaar (feeding people for free) in their shop. His mother too used to teach underprivileged children for free and Sonu grew up watching all these kind acts.

Humanly Impossible To Answer The Requests

The actor revealed that he receives over 32,000 requests on a daily basis and although he tries to reach out to everyone he can, he admits that it is sometimes not humanly possible for him to answer all the requests. The actor took to his Instagram profile and wrote, “1137. mails 19000. FB messages 4812. Insta messages, 6741. Twitter messages, Today’s HELP messages. On average these are the number of requests I get for HELP. It is humanly impossible to reach out to everyone. I still try my best. Apologies if I missed your message.”

Earlier this week a young woman reached out to Sonu and explained that she was physically handicapped and needed to open a vegetable shop to earn a source of income. The girl stated that she was from Karnataka and stated that her father had died around two years ago. Sonu responded and told the girl that they would start by opening her vegetable shop in the morning.

Sonu recently extended his support out to a young tribal girl in a region of Chhattisgarh known as Bastar. The young girl had lost her books and house due to the constant rains that had hammered the region for around five days. The actor took note of a video shared by Anjali Kudiyam, a resident of the girl’s village, and responded with a super emotional message. Sonu asked the little girl to wipe her tears away and told her that the books as well as her house would be as good as new.

Good Sense Of Humor

Sonu is known for having quite a good sense of humor on his social media platforms. The actor has often received very bizarre and (troll worthy) requests from some of his fans. One fan asked Sonu to arrange a car for him so he could “self-drive” to his wife’s in-law’s home in the state of Rajasthan. The actor hilariously trolled the account by replying saying he would drive the person down himself and asked the person which type of car he would prefer and what temperature Sonu should set the air conditioner at for him. The embarrassed fan later took down his tweet.

During an interview with a newspaper, Sonu addressed the nickname many fans have given him. He said that he doesn’t see himself as a “national hero”. According to Sonu, his charitable efforts started because he simply grew concerned for the migrant worker community due to lockdown. He stated that he was extremely grateful for the amount of love, appreciation, and blessing he has been receiving from people across the country. He added that he is just doing his part for society and that he wants more people to be inspired by his mission and start helping others around them. He added, “I get almost 100 emails every single day of people asking for help and thousands of messages, but I also know that I can’t help all of them. I try to solve at least 30 to 40 problems every day, maybe more.” The actor is set to star in the film Prithviraj. The film also stars Sanjay Dutt, Akshay Kumar, and former Miss World Manushi Chillar. This movie will be Manushi’s debut in the field of acting.

Sonu proves to the world that no matter how big an actor you are, humility is a trait that is very much appreciated. Do let us know your thoughts on this article in the comment section below. Share this article if you enjoyed reading it.
