Bollywood is more than just a movie industry; it is a dream for everyone who aspires to leave a mark in terms of their acting talent behind. While most people think success comes from being a part of the big screen alone, some actors will contradict this statement. For decades now, many famous TV soap actors have attempted to be a part of Bollywood, and not everyone has succeeded in making a lasting impression. Here are some of our ever favorite TV stars who were disappointed with Bollywood for the film industry did not give them their share of fame. Read on to know them all.

Sara khan starred in the serial Sapna Babul Ka Bidaai. She was then lured into Bollywood by her popularity. However, her films did not do well for her, and she was back to soaps and reality shows like Ram Milayee Jodi and Bigg Boss.

Anita has starred in various TV shows and movies like Kucch Toh Hai. She even worked in TV soaps like Yeh Hai Mohabbatein. However, she couldn’t make a prominent name in her Bollywood ventures.

Hansika was the famous child actress from Shaka Laka Boom Boom. She also worked as a child actress in movies and starred in a prominent role in Koi Mil Gaya. But at 16, she got the leading role in Tera Surroor, and her career just went downhill from that. Too bad, Hansika!

4. Gurmeet Choudhary

Gurmeet played the role of Lord Ram in Ramayan 2008 series. After this, he participated in reality shows like Nach Baliye, Pati, Patni Aur Woh, and Jhalak Dikhlaa Jaa. He even worked in Geet-Hui Sabse Parai in a leading role. He worked in the Bollywood movie Khamoshiyan in 2015, but it gave him below-average results at the box office.

Prachi Desai was the famous Bani in the show Kasamh Se. After winning her share of popularity, she went to try her luck in movies such as Rock On. She did make a good impression, but it was not as tremendous as she probably expected.

Jay Bhanushali played the role of Neev in Kayamath. His charming looks and cute personality bagged him essential roles in movies like Hate Story 2, Platform No.6, and Ek Paheli Leela. But sadly, none of the films worked at the box office, and he was last seen as a participant in Khatron Ke Khiladi Season 7.

Aamna Sharif worked in Kahiin To Hoga opposite Rajeev Khandelwal and became very popular among the public. She then thought of trying her luck in Bollywood. She delivered two films, but none of them gave her the expected results.

Karan Singh Grover rose to fame after working on Kasautii Zindagii Kay. He started his career with Balaji Telefilms – Kitnii Mast Hai Zindagi. After appearing in significant roles like Dr. Armaan Malik in Dill Mill Gayye, he also tried to be a part of Bollywood films. He has done about 4 films so far, but none of them gave him the popularity he was aiming for in the movie industry.

Shruti Seth was the beloved teenager who played the role of Jiya in Shararat. She was very popular among the generation and tried her luck in Bollywood movies. However, she could not secure a significant role and wandered about playing menial roles that failed to impact the audience.

Rannvijay was the first winner of Roadies Season 1. After winning, he signed up to host the show, gaining even more popularity. He became a role model for all Roadie aspirants and even tried his luck in Bollywood with movies like Toss. However, it did not work very well for him, and even though he tried more films, he finally settled for being a judge for MTV Roadies.

11. Rajeev Khandelwal

Rajeev debuted in the soap Kahiin To Hoga and became an instant sensation. He was also the lead in Left Right Left. However, he was replaced by Gaurav Chopra as he wanted to venture into Bollywood. His first movie, Aamir, was a hit but did not do well at the box office.

While everyone with a knack for acting aims to be a Bollywood star, not everyone succeeds in landing on the platform they desire. However, that does not mean they are not successful in their career.
