Sushmita Sen in Main Hoon Na set many hearts on fire and was probably every 90s kid’s first crush. The gorgeous brunette stole the show as Ram and Lakshman’s attractive chemistry professor in the film and many people were enamored by her performance. Besides Main Hoon Naa, the actress and former Miss Universe has starred in a wide array of films including, Maine Pyaar Kyu Kiya, Main Aisa Hi Hoon, and many more. Crowned Miss Universe in 1994, the former model has gone on to make a name for herself for both her acting chops as well as her kind heart. Yes, Sushmita made the bold decision to take on the role of a single mother, not once, but twice! She is now set to make a come back to our screens after five whole years. Sushmita was last seen in the Bengali film, Nirbaak. The actress is now set to make her web series debut in Aarya. She had taken to her Instagram account to tease her fans with a little glimpse of her avatar in the series. The actress stated in an online interview, “Aapne bulaaya aur hum chale aaye!! Now it’s your turn to tell me, what you think Aarya is about? Tell me in the comments below and the lucky one who comes closest to guessing it right…goes live with me here on Instagram very very soon,”.
In the video, the actress can be seen practicing one of her aerial workout routines. At the end of the video, the actress finally revealed her special avatar. The actress also let her fans know that the trailer of the show will be out on the 5th of June. The film is directed by Neerja director, Ram Madhvani and is supposed to be a remake of a popular dutch show called, Penoza. The series entails a mob bosses wife who takes over her late husband’s criminal syndicate instead of going into the witness protection program. It sounds like the premise of a very interesting show indeed! Once the show hits the internet, it will be distributed through a popular online streaming service.
Breaking Barriers
Sushmita was one of the first actresses in Bollywood who decided to raise an adoptive child alone. When she adopted her older daughter, Renee in 2000, many were quick to judge the actress as a bad parent since she was doing it all by herself. However, Sushmita took the criticism in her stride and ensured she gave her little girl the best childhood she could have asked for. The actress often appeared at events with her precious daughter in tow, rather than a date and tried her best to shield her from the media’s limelight.
However, Sushmita believed her family was not quite complete yet. So for the second time, in 2010, she decided to adopt another daughter and named her Alisah. We can imagine how excited and overwhelmed Renee must have been to become a big sister! The adorable sisters get along like a house on fire and Sushmita has admitted to being very lucky to have her daughters. In an interview, she had once admitted that adopting both her daughters changed her entire perspective on life. The actress often shares adorable videos and snippets of herself busting a move with her little girls and pictures of them on family vacations together.

The actress, who has been in a relationship with a model named Rohman Shawl, often shares videos of herself, her boyfriend, and her little girls working out together or dancing in a studio. After all, the family that stays fit together, is the family that stays lit together (or is that how the saying goes…). During the lockdown, Sushmita and Rohman have been giving all of us fitness goals with their insane workout videos and dance routines. These two seem to have perfected the perfect way to calm down the lockdown jitters.

Sushmita’s younger daughter, Alisah, might be on her way to walking in her mom’s shoes very soon! Sushmita shared an adorable video of her 10-year-old daughter mimicking the character of Hermoine Granger from the Harry Potter series on her Instagram page. The adorable little girl seems to have crunched down the lines to a tee and recites the dialogue with a pretty accurate British accent. Emma Watson would most definitely be proud of that impression! Many fans were quick to notice the little lady’s talents and compared her to her mother, encouraging her to take up acting in the future. Whatever, Renee and Alisah choose to pursue, we’re sure they will have their brave and supportive mother’s unconditional love.
