Haven’t we all thought that someday we will fall in love, get married, and live happily ever after? (All of us surely do dream about that) Well, it doesn’t really work that way in real life, right? Only a few in a million get to marry their first love and even if they do, probably just half of them stay in that marriage. It’s not anybody’s fault and as we grow up, we make our peace with the fact that if two people aren’t happy together, the right thing to do is to move on. While there are many people who stay in a bitter marriage for the sake of their family and children or for just namesake, some people stand up for their happiness and walk out.
In the starry world of television celebrities, getting married and then re-married isn’t something new to our favorite television actors. Many of their married lives are in fact pretty different from their on-screen one that boasts eternal love and an everlasting bond. Let’s take a look at some of the most popular mini screen actors who found love again and remarried.
1. Karan Singh Grover
Mr. Bajaj of the cult classic saas-bahu serial Kasautii Zindagii Kay version two is Bollywood’s hottie Bipasha Basu’s husband. However, his first wife was Shraddha Nigam to whom he got married in 2008. Their marriage fell apart in just a few months and Karan found love in Jennifer Winget, another popular mini screen actress. The duo got married in 2012 and was quite a popular couple back then. Sadly, even that marriage didn’t last long. Karan who was always infamous for his Casanova personality in the television world fell for Bipasha when they were shooting for the movie Alone. He married Bips on April 30th, 2016 and the couple never misses a chance to flaunt their chemistry on social media.
2. Kamya Panjabi
Kamya Panjabi rose to popularity after she gave life to the character of Sindoora Singh in Banoo Mein Teri Dulhann on the small screen. In 2003, Kamya married Bunty Negi and the couple got divorced in 2013. After this, Kamya dated television star Karan Patel for while but they broke up in 2015 following a series of bitter spats. Kamya has now given love another chance and is all set to marry Delhi-based Salabh Dang who is a healthcare professional.
She even shared a picture of Salabh and herself with their children from previous marriages, all together and happy enjoying pool time. We wish the couple a bright and love-filled future ahead.
3. Anup Soni
Anup Soni is familiar to most of us from CID Special Bureau and Crime Patrol. He has quite a huge fan following and has been a part of the television industry for more than a decade. Anup was married to Ritu Soni before he tied the knot with his second wife Juhi Babbar in 2011. Anup also has two children Zoya and Myra from his first marriage. Juhi Babbar, his current wife was earlier married to director Bejoy Nambiar.
4. Gautami Gadgil
Guatami Gadgil and Ram Kapoor are among mini screen’s most loved couples. Gautami was earlier married to Madhur Shroff, a well-known commercial photographer. Sadly, things did not work out between them and Gautami moved on. Ram and Gautami have been married for almost sixteen years and are proud parents of two kids.
5. Sanjeev Seth
Sanjeev Seth is married to Lata Sabharwal, his on-screen wife in the popular television serial Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. However, Sanjeev was married to Resham Tipnis for 11 years before they decided to call it quits. They had gotten married in 1993 and Sanjeev got re-married to Lata in 2010. Interestingly, Resham and Sanjeev are still on good terms despite the divorce and his second marriage. “Today when we look back, both of us feel that had I been more mature and he more understanding, divorce would have never happened. Today we are good friends. We actually talk on a daily basis,” Resham said in an interview.
6. Hiten Tejwani
Hiten Tejwani and his wife Gauri Pradhan made an excellent couple in Kyu Ki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi and they make an even better couple in real life. It’s a lesser-known fact that Gauri isn’t Karan’s first wife. In an interview that took place years ago, Hiten spoke about his first marriage — “I’d started my career around the same time I got married. Probably I couldn’t give her the time she deserved. It’s said that in an arranged marriage, love happens after you get married. But in my case, it never happened.” Hiten’s first marriage lasted only for 11 months.
7. Renuka Shahane
Renuka Shahane, the sweetest of the television actresses is married to Ashutosh Rana, the scariest Bollywood villain of all time. But they are a great couple in real life and are happily co-parenting two children. Renuka spoke about her first marriage in an interview — “I did have insecurities before getting into another marriage, but I guess I was better equipped this time around. My first marriage has made me what I am today.” Well, this proves that everything happens for the best,
8. Samir Soni
Samir Soni who is an actor and former model tied the knot with his first wife Rajlaxmi Roy was also a model. Unfortunately, the marriage only lived for six months and later on, in 2011, Samir married actress Neelam Kothari who is also a popular jewelry designer. The duo is happily married and has an adopted daughter.
Like someone had rightly said, “Life is all about second chances (in this case third chances as well!).” If it’s not a happy marriage, it would be a punishment to live with each other and waste the very little time that you’ve got on earth.
