Ah, the 90s! Those were a prime time for all the hotties with the bleach blonde hair and center-parted haircuts. For those of us who grew up in the 90s, these crushes were our everything. Back in those days, we grooved to the Backstreet Boys, and Britney Spears like our lives depended on it. But, whether you were a fan of Hollywood-related pop culture or Bollywood-related pop culture, some common traits were borrowed and shared. So let’s open that time capsule and slide on back to the era of Kate Moss and Claudia Schieffer. Here are ten childhood crushes almost every 90s kid had:
1. Matt LeBlanc As Joey Tribbiani In F.R.I.E.N.D.S (1994-2004)
Who can forget the ever-so-smooth Joey’s from F.R.I.E.N.D.S.? Matt LeBlanc rocked his role as the lovable and hunky aspiring actor, Joey Tribbiani. So many guys wanted to copy his style, while most girls wanted to go out on a date with him.
2. Cameron Diaz As Tina Carlysle In The Mask (1994)
Cameron Diaz in the 90s was every teenage boy’s (and some girls) fantasy, and she was known for playing peppy roles. In The Mask, Cameron played the sassy and siren-like Tina Carlyse. Tina is the object of Jim Carey’s Stanley Ipkiss’s love interest. And we have to say that she was a total heartthrob in the vixen-like role.
3. Milind Soman In Made In India By Alisha Chinai (1995)
If you grew up in the 90s, you’d remember that T.V. channels were blasting Made In India like there was no tomorrow. The iconic Alisha Chinai song featured the handsome hunk (who was then just a model) Milind Soman. The video remains embedded in every 90s desi girls’ heart.
4. Ryan Phillipe As Sebastian Valmont In Cruel Intentions (1999)
How could anybody not mention the cute and nerdy Ryan Philippe as Sebastian Valmont in Cruel Intentions. Anybody who has watched the film can attest to drooling over the handsome actor’s interesting personality. He exuded bad boy vibes but looked oh-so-good. Every girl who’s watched Cruel Intentions came out with a new man-crush after seeing Sebastian Valmont.
5. Angelina Jolie As Lisa Rowe In Girl, Interrupted
Angelina Jolie played the rebellious, charismatic, and extremely toxic young sociopath Lisa Rowe in the film Girl, Interrupted. Although most of us were extremely frightened of her character, there was a certain charm to her.
6. Shah Rukh Khan As Rahul Khanna In Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998)
Any girl who has watched Kuch Kuch Hota Hai as a child can agree that Shah Rukh Khan as Rahul Khanna is extremely cute. Many of us who grew up in India found the handsome young Shah Rukh Khan to be the ultimate teenage crush at the time, especially after his role in this film.
7. Leonardo DiCaprio As Jack Dawson In Titanic (1997)
Jack Dawson made every guy hate romantic films after their girlfriends expected them to make equally grand gestures (we’re just kidding). In all seriousness, Leonardo DiCaprio as Jack Dawson was the perfect example of a romantic drama hero, and he still makes women go gaga over his character today.
8. Paul Rudd As Josh Lucas In Clueless (1995)
Paul Rudd in Clueless was the absolute cutest. While it was definitely sort of weird that his love interest, Cher, played by Alicia Silverstone, was technically his ex-step-sister, we still found them absolutely adorable as a couple. His magnetic eyes were definitely what drew her, and us, to him.
9. Pamela Anderson As C.J. Parker In Baywatch (1989-1999)
No guy who grew up in the 90s can say he doesn’t know Pamela Anderson’s iconic beach running sequence on her show, Baywatch. So if he claims he doesn’t remember it, he’s lying. The gorgeous Barbed Wire actress was the apple of every boy’s eye back in those days, and we don’t blame them.
10. Freddie Prince Jr. As Ray Bronson In I Know What You Did Last Summer (1997)
Freddie Prince Jr. in I Know What You Did Last Summer was a total heartbreaker and, along with Ryan Phillipe’s character, gave us enough eye candy to look at throughout the film. Ray comes across as the misunderstood and underestimated one, but we absolutely loved his character.
