Considering most Indians spend most of their formative years in schools, teachers have a significant impact on their outlook towards the education system. There are good teachers, there are bad teachers, and then there are so-so teachers. However, there are some types of teachers who are almost found universally. From the chatty one to the hot-tempered one, we’ve seen it all during our time during school and college days. Let’s take a look at some of the most common types of teachers we all remember being a student of.
1. “The Chatty Kathy”
This teacher will just not quit talking about her personal life or relating experiences to what she goes through in her daily life. She loves being the center of attention and doesn’t enjoy a two-way dialogue. As much as you want to tell your teacher you’re not interested in her personal life, you just grin and bear it like everyone else. Sometimes, her experiences can actually be helpful and serve as a lesson.
2. “The I’m 2 Cool 4 Skool” Teacher
This teacher sometimes tries too hard to be cool and hip. He tries to bond with his students by using up to date lingo or speaking to them like he’s with the times. This teacher is super friendly and tries to keep the class quite exciting and is usually one of the school’s younger teachers. Thanks to their cool persona, students often enjoy their lessons and learn something new.
3. The “Super-Hyped” One
This teacher behaves like he did three shots of espresso right before he walked into the classroom. He’ll be the kind of teacher who comes to the classroom with his laptop in hand, ready to go. If you’re the kind of kid who gets bored during PPTs and hates loud noises, well, tough luck! Because this teacher often goes overboard by trying to make his PPTs look cool with in-your-face graphics and explosions.
4. The Super Hot One
Let’s be real; almost every Indian school and college has one teacher who is super attractive. Whether it’s a handsome male teacher or a stunning female teacher, the one thing remains common; one set wants to be like them, while the other set feels like they’re in love with them. It’s usually hard to pay attention during class because most of us are distracted by how attractive they look or by our admiration towards them.
5. The Know-It-All
This is the teacher who believes he has the answer key to the entire world. He hates being corrected and behaves like he knows each and everything about the rest of the world. If you try to counteract his viewpoint, he will get super angry and ask you to do your research properly.
6. The One Who Hates Being A Teacher
This teacher hates being a teacher so much and behaves like they’re just there to bide time away. They’re usually bored during class and often make the students take over and just chill by the side. The fun thing about this kind of teacher is that they let students get away with many petty things other teachers would punish them for.
7. The Super Emotional One
This teacher is always overly “senti” and tends to cry after inspirational videos or while talking about serious subjects. She is also the teacher who probably does something special for her students at the end of every school year and is very committed towards their growth. You may find yourself looking this teacher up and adding her on Facebook many years down the line.
8. The Overly Sweet Teacher
If the hot-tempered teacher is the classic bad guy, then this teacher is the classic nice guy. Sometimes she is so nice that she lets the students run the classroom and doesn’t even mind the chaos. However, because she’s so sweet, the class often behaves well with her and doesn’t try to cross the line. You never know when the sweet teacher could turn!
9. The One Who Forgets They’re A Teacher
This is the teacher who talks to the students like he would speak to his friends. He’s also the type of teacher who would put a student in charge and leave the classroom to go chill in the teachers’ lounge and then go back to check on the students every now and then.
10. The “Why Am I Still Here?” One
This teacher is way past their retirement age and you can tell very easily. They’re usually very grumpy and just there because they either need the money or just can’t imagine the idea of retiring. This teacher is generally very moody, and you need to make sure you behave the right way according to their mood.
11. The Over-Organized Teacher
This is the type of teacher who has everything organized in a binder. If you think she’s the type of teacher who will forget to give homework or accidentally lose your assignment, you’re mistaken. We’re pretty sure this teacher has a secure vault hidden somewhere in the staff room where she keeps all her notes.
12. The PE Obsessed One
This is usually the PE teacher only. This teacher believes PE is as important as other subjects and sometimes even superior. While it is an incredibly important part of the school curriculum, it’s considered to be more of extracurricular work when you get to college. However, this teacher will keep insisting on you focussing on the subject and doing well in it.
13. The Perfect Teacher
There is a perfect teacher for every student in the world. It doesn’t matter if they are special needs students of abled-students. While some of us may go through the school system without ever meeting our unicorn teachers, some find them early on and it truly shapes the way their academics progress.
14. The Hot-Tempered One
This teacher has serious anger issues. When she’s not screaming at the students, she’s doing everything possible not to hit students who misbehave. This is also the kind of teacher who will smack a piece of chalk at you if she notices you chatting from the corner of her eye.
