7 Things Experts Won’t Eat

Since our childhood we have been taught that food is essential to us. It has a such an impact on our life that we have designated certain food items as comfort food, like chocolates and ice creams. We tend to eat as per our emotions. But these food items may have harmful effects on our body. Here is a list of foods we shouldn’t eat because of their negative impact on our health.

Fruit Juices

Fruit juices are not recommended by most nutritionists and diet experts. Juice that is sold in the market has a high amount of sugar and fructose, but no fiber. This not only causes weight gain but also increases the risk of cardiovascular diseases.

High Fructose Corn Syrup

This syrup is used as a sweetener in beer, soft drinks, sweets, and even ketchup. Research suggests that high amounts of this sweetener upsets the metabolism, increasing the risk of heart diseases and diabetes. Fructose also decreases your body’s reserves of chromium, a mineral important for maintaining the levels of insulin, cholesterol, and blood sugar.

Trans Fat

Trans fat can be found in different types of foods such as doughnuts, cakes, frozen pizza, and even in the healthy alternative of butter – margarine. These fats take a long time to break down in your body and lead to high cholesterol levels that cause heart diseases, heart attacks, and strokes.

Canned Food

We buy canned food based on the fact that it is easier for us to prepare but according to Dr Joseph Mercola, “Many tins contain BPA, a toxic chemical that has been linked to fertility problems, breast, prostate cancers, diabetes, and heart diseases. It’s particularly bad news for tomatoes because their high acidity causes BPA to leak from the tin into the contents.”

Junk Or Processed Foods

Junk or processed foods are acid–forming. They cause our blood circulation to slow, which reduces its effectiveness of carrying nutrients in the body. This blood carries a lot of impurities that clog up our detox organs and cause various health issues.

Microwave Popcorn

Microwaveable popcorn bags contain chemicals such as Perfluorooctanoic acid that is linked to infertility and has caused various forms of cancer when tested on animals. The chemicals used tend to vaporize when microwaved, which then gets transferred to the popcorn and accumulates in your body for years.

Refined Grains

Refined grain is made by processing whole grain, which causes a loss of nutrients. Almost all grain products are refined which makes the grain nutritionally imbalanced. This increases the phosphorus-calcium levels, causing calcium leaching from teeth and bones.

Watching what we eat is a taxing process, but it is becoming a necessity because of our current trends and lifestyles.
