Not only is Kareena Kapoor a certified diva, but she’s also an amazingly talented super-mom. The magnetic actress has charmed audiences across the country from the time she acted in Refugee to her last release, Good Newzz. Besides having an expansive and magnificent career of nearly two decades, Kareena is also a mother to the most-adorable Taimur and step-mom to Saif’s children with his first wife Amrita Singh. Here’s why we think Kareena is someone who proves you can have your cake and eat it too:

1. Ideal Partner To Saif

Despite an age gap of ten years, Kareena couldn’t help but fall head over heels for the “Chote Nawab”. The pair’s first encounter was when Kareena showed up on the sets of a movie that her older sister Karisma and Saif were working on. Many years later, the pair met on the sets of their 2008 film Tashan and sparks flew. Anybody who has watched the movie can attest to the fact that the pair shared some amazing on-screen chemistry with each other. The pair dated for five years before Saif dropped the question while on vacation in Greece. Kareena speaks highly of her husband during interviews and speaks about how Saif managed to woo her. Saif too speaks kindly about his wife and has stated that she always brings out the best in him and puts her family above all else. The Salaam Namaste actor said, “For me, it is very important to feel calm about the person I am with, and not distracted or worried. If one is happy at home, it shows on one’s face, and in one’s work. Kareena has made me feel secure about our relationship, so I am happy being with her.”

2. A Loving Mom To Taimur

Kareena and Saif had their first child together, Taimur Ali Khan in 2016 and Kareena took to motherhood like a fish to water. The actress has openly talked about how Taimur is the most special thing that’s happened in her life and that she sees both herself and Saif in Taimur. When asked about motherhood, the actress believes that once you take on the role of a mother you feel as though “your heart is not beating inside you, but outside your body”. According to Kareena, that is the biggest responsibility.

3. Sharing A Close Bond With Her Step-Children

Long before Saif and Kareena tied the knot, he was married to his first love, Amrita Singh. The pair were married for thirteen years before they got divorced in the year 2004. Through his marriage to Amrita, Saif has two children, actress Sara Ali Khan and her little brother, Ibrahim Ali Khan. When discussing Sara, Kareena has praised her for her beauty and talent and says that Sara “has it in her genes” and believes that Sara will rock the industry someday.

4. Balancing Her Priorities

Post delivering Taimur, the actress made a comeback in the movie Veere Di Wedding and left people impressed with her performance. However, the actress has stated that now that she has a child of her own, her priorities have changed. Earlier, the actress had said that she wasn’t sure if she would be able to balance her career and her family but as time has passed she has managed to do both.

5. Queen Of Multi-Tasking

The actress was recently shooting in London for her upcoming film, Angrezi Medium while also judging a show called Dance India Dance. While shooting in London, Kareena used to catch a flight back to Mumbai to shoot for Dance India Dance and then hop on a return flight just to spend time with Taimur and Saif.

When asked how she managed to multi-task, she said, “We women somehow know how to multitask. I’m enjoying every minute of it. I’m balancing it well. My time with my child is my time. I don’t need to flaunt it on Instagram. I don’t need to flaunt it in front of the media. Like I don’t need to carry my child at the airport to prove how much I love him. My husband too believes it’s not needed. By carrying the child in my arms I don’t need to prove that I’m a hands-on mother. Even if I have two hours with Saif, Taimur and myself in the bedroom, it’s the quality of time and wanting to be together that matters, rather than the quantity of time we spend. I come from that school of parenting.”

6. Bring Your Kid To Work Day

The Chameli actress has often been spotted carrying her son with her to shoots and has stated that she loves spending time with him and letting him watch her work. A short while back, an image of Taimur accompanying her on a shoot was released and fans went crazy. When reflecting on the time she spends with Taimur, she said, “My time with my son- because it’s not on social media or no one knows about it- does not need to be made public. Just because I don’t post a picture with him or I don’t carry him at airports doesn’t mean I don’t spend time with my son.”

Kareena has proved that you can find the perfect balance between family and work life. She keeps her views diplomatic and never shames other mothers for the way they raise their kids (cough cough Mira Rajput). We really look forward to watching Taimur grow up under the guidance of such an incredible role model. Let us know all your thoughts in the comments below.
