BTS has been on everybody’s minds for a couple of years now. The seven talented singers have crooned their way into the hearts of millions of fans out there and continue to steal the show with every track they drop. However, like with every boy band, there will always end up being a fan favorite. While we love all of the OT7, we must admit that the youngest of the group, Jungkook, has a special place in our hearts. Jungkook truly is the baby of the group as he was barely 15 when the group debuted in 2013. As the youngest member of the group, he often speaks about how he was raised by other members of the group and he only joined Big Hit after he was impressed by RM’s persona. Here are some of our favorite Jungkook moments that we will never forget:
1. “International Playboy”
Get your mind outta the gutter! The only reason that Jungkook is called “International Playboy” is because of a slip up that occured when he and RM were trying to translate the lyrics of one of their hits. This was during the early days of the band’s debut and the original lyrics were, “The name is Jung Kook, my scale is nationwide” but he accidentally said, “My name is Jungkook, International Playboy!”. Even if Jungkook really is a playboy, there’s no need to shame him at all.
2. When He Accidentally Caused A Wine To Sell Out
Jungkook is known for causing many brands to sell out their products whenever he is either featured in their ads or spotted rocking one of the brands. This time, he ended up causing a massive rise in sales for wine. Within just a few hours of the live video, the wine was sold out. Talk about making a splash!
3. Cuts Open A Pineapple With Bare Hands
Hey, it takes a lot of upper arm strength to open any big fruit but Jungkook blew our minds when he ripped open a pineapple with his own bare hands. The ARMY has been circulating clips and edits of him ripping open the pineapple and we have got to say, he makes it look H.O.T. (*makes sizzling noises*).
4. “I Know Her Face, But I Don’t Know Her Name.”
During an interview, Jungkook was asked to name his biggest Hollywood crush. The ever shy BTS member started blushing and jokingly said, “I know her face, but I don’t know her name”, eliciting a round of laughter from his pals. Jungkook is known for his humor and often tends to make those around him laugh with his silly and boyish sense of humor.
5. “My Everything, My Blood And Tears” High Pitch Solo Part In ON
Jungkook is one of the few members of BTS who can hit super high notes and we are absolutely living for his vocals. The 23-year-old is known for his incredible vocals as well as his wonderful dancing skills and our jaws literally dropped when he hit the high notes on “My everything, my blood and tears”.
6. “I’m Not Your Oppa”
The word “Oppa” is a respectful South Korean way to refer to an older brother. Jungkook doesn’t mind being called Oppa by women who are genuinely younger to him but he kinda gets weirded out when older women call him that. It’s a very respectful and personal term so we can understand why he wouldn’t want strangers or acquaintances to call him that.
7. Cries On Stage For Not Being Able To Perform
We all have our bad days and we have to give Jungkook props for not being afraid to express his emotions. Considering how young he is, we can understand how overwhelmed he must have felt after not being able to perform. It’s perfectly okay to not be a perfect 10 every day of the week and Jungkook is an incredibly talented individual, regardless of his good days or bad days.
8. His ARMY Tattoo
Jungkook has a few tattoos but his most popular one definitely has to be the one he dedicated to his fans and BTS. He has the word ARMY tattooed across his knuckles (ouch) and he got it back in the year 2019.
9. The “Jeon Jungkook Imnida” Song
We might not understand the lyrics (like at all), but we can certainly say it sounds super melodious when Jungkook sings along. The comments of the original video are filled with ARMY members joking about how this is the only Korean they know and how Jungkook sounds good even when people catch him during candid moments.
