7 Easy Tricks To Getting Your Best Brows Ever

Let me guess your monthly salon regime. You go to the salon and get a mani-pedi along with a heavy-duty depilating session to get your skin smooth and baby-soft, and to top it off, you get your eyebrows shaped.

This sounds about right, doesn’t it? But what if we were to tell you that this routine of yours isn’t as fool-proof as you would like it to be, and that there is room for improvement.

We are talking about the last bit of this routine, the one that involves getting your eyebrows shaped. It’s time you pay more attention to those two bushy caterpillars sitting above your pretty eyes. Why? Because it’s your brows which give your face its unique structure and ground your features, though you often care for them as an afterthought. To help you maximize the beauty benefits of your brows, these are a couple of things you should be mindful of. Trust us, if you do so, Cara Delevingne would have nothing on you!

1. When Filling In The Brows, Use Flicking Motions To Create An Impression Of Naturally Thick Brows

The trick to using any product to fill out the brows to give them more body is to use less of it. What we mean to say is don’t fill them in with a single sweep of the product. Instead, use short, flicking motions in the direction in which the hair is growing to create a realistic look. This will give it a more natural look, instead of a made-up one.

2. Cover The Sparse Spots

Some of us are blessed with naturally thick brows, such as Frida Kahlo, Cara Delevingne, while some of us have sparse shadowy brows in our fate. If you fall into the latter category, we have an important tip for you. Fill in those sparse spots with powder or brow pencil, and then top it off with a brow mascara. This will give your brows a fuller, more wholesome look.

3. While Shaping Your Brows, Pay Attention To Its Tail

Your God-given brows have a symmetry to them which lifts your face. So, if you are trying to shape your brows to make them look denser or if you are thinking of playing with their shape, don’t mess with its original shape, especially when it comes to the tail of the brow. If you extend the tail, it will give your face a droopy look.

To find the natural endpoint of the tail, hold the eyebrow pencil across your nose diagonally and line it up next to your eyes. The point where it touches your brow bone is where your brow’s tail should end naturally.

4. Create A Realistic Arch

Keep in mind that arches that are too sharp or pointed can have the effect of making you look angry or surprised. To highlight your arch or make it more pronounced, first find its natural location. To do that hold the eyebrow pencil against your nostril, in a diagonal fashion, crossing the center of your eye. Where the pencil touches your brow bone, that is where your arch should be.

Next, use a spoolie brush to brush the hair of the brow downwards, and then using a brow pencil (or any other product of your choice) create a slight arch at that location, and then brush the hair back up, to make it look natural.

5. Rub Off Any Stark Lines

The most common technique used to shape the eyebrow is drawing a rough outline of it and then filling it in. While it’s a very handy technique, it can make your brows look very artificial. Instead of this, opt to create tiny hairs by using the product of your choice to give your brows a definite shape and finish it off by blending stark lines, if there are any.

6. Ditch The Highlighter And Use Concealer Above And Below Brows

While using a little dab of highlighter over and right below the brow is a great way to highlight them, it can also make them stand out. To avoid doing this, swap the highlighter for a concealer that is one shade lighter than your skin tone. It will get your brows just the right amount of attention.

7. Accentuate Your Arch With The Right Brow Color

Though till now we have been giving you tips to give your brows the perfect shape, there is also the matter of its color. If you choose a product of a darker color to do your brows, it can make it appear very artificial and made up. Therefore, take care to choose the right color. If you have trouble finding your shade, you can choose two colors to get a hybrid that works for you.

Keep these tips in mind the next time you sit down to groom your brows, and we can assure you that your brows will look like a million dollars.

So try them out and tell us how they worked out for you, and if you have any queries or suggestions, share them with us in the comments section.
