Science Says These 5 Types Of People Are Most Likely To Betray You

Written by Chandrama Deshmukh  •

Separation is so alarmingly common these days that sometimes we are forced to think that happy-ever-afters are only for fairytales. We do not have to look far if we consider our circle of friends, at least one out of five people would have gone through a divorce or a breakup at least once in their lifetime.

Why is separation so common, we ask?

Is it something you did or said?

Well, not always so.

Apart from reasons of incompatibility or family pressure, the most apparent answer to it is cheating – either emotionally or physically. Identifying a person who is most likely to cheat can be a challenge. There are, however, subtle signs that we can always look out for consciously, to check if the person is honest or is likely to deceive.

Here is an interesting read on the kinds of people who are most likely to betray you. So, the next time you get into a relationship, you will be ready with your armor!

1. Those Who Cheated In The Past

It is a given that those who have cheated on their partner in the past are likely to cheat on their newer partner as well. When in love, we like to believe that we can shower our partner with so much love that he will never look at another woman. We think that we can make the person stop smoking or stop being a bully or simply be a nicer person. More often than not, in the long run, we are proved to be completely wrong.

If we look at it logically we will understand that whatever we do we can seldom change the core essence of a person. Basic qualities will always remain the same, though we may be able to change habits like smoking. Notice that most often, if the person can leave someone else for you or if he has betrayed someone earlier then he will not think twice before moving on to the next person that captures his fancy.

2. Rich Men And Poor Women

In movies, rich and powerful men are often portrayed as philanthropists with many women flocking around them either in an office space, a holiday or at a party. The reality is not much different. Though it might not be so extravagant and flashy, men with money have the means to use its power to attract women and cheat on their partner.

While rich men are more likely to cheat, poor women are not far behind. Women who are in constant need of money also look for partners who can satisfy their monetary cravings. Hence, when they see someone who is richer than their current partner, they are quick to cut ties with their partner and cling on to the man with more money.

3. People Who Love Themselves More Than Anyone Else

Once in a while, you will come across people who are shockingly full of themselves. But it is not always easy to see through their narcissism in the beginning. They are charming, smart, interesting to spend time with, and seem caring. However, at the core, they cannot think of anything or anyone else except for themselves. They think that they are entitled to all the good things in the world, including love and friendship. These people take relationships for granted and do not really value your feelings. They are attracted to adulation and praise, so they will definitely move on to another person as soon as they feel that there is someone else more capable of appeasing them.

4. Men Who Are A Year Short Of Hitting Another Decade

It is difficult to believe that men who are 29, 39, 49, and so on will be unfaithful. Why should people at this age cheat? Well, it is actually a psychological behavior. Men who are almost completing another decade feel the need to prove to themselves that they are still young and capable. That tingling doubt of becoming weaker with age needs to be put to rest. Hence, at these ages, most men go all out and experiment, and in the process, cheat on their partner.

5. Social Media Extroverts

If you fall for someone seeing his interesting online posts, then beware. If the man spends a majority of his time online, it simply means that his offline interactions are pretty few. It is an undeniable fact that a socially active person can seldom give enough time to his family and close ones. They are busy trying to find happiness in the alternate universe, gradually forming cracks in their relationships until they crumble. So, it is best to avoid people who are overtly active on social media.

So, the next time you get into a relationship, be pretty sure to steer clear of these five kinds of men and take a conscious and well-thought-out decision before moving ahead in your love life.
