College life is a lot of fun, and you get to meet so many new interesting people that you wouldn’t meet in high school or before. Every person you meet is more different than the last, and that’s the best part. Every friend you make will have a different and distinct personality. Your college days are your golden days and the last time you’ll ever get to be free from responsibilities and relax before you enter the real world. This is when you will make some of your fondest memories that will remain with you for the rest of your life. When you step into college, your first thought is probably if you belong in the right place. You’re probably nervous about the type of people you will meet or the new subjects you’ll encounter. Well, here are eleven types of people you will come across when you start attending college:
1. The Mean Girl Wannabes
You’ll know when this person has entered the classroom when the attention of the entire class shifts towards them. These girls strut around the college campus like they are models and are known for scaring off plenty of juniors and freshers. Although they’re terrible to others, they are incredibly loyal to their own squad.
2. The “It” Couple
Every college has a tone of love birds. You’ll see them walking down the hallways hand in hand. At parties and college gatherings, they are either going together or not going at all. These couples are always lost in each other, and they often don’t even realize what’s happening in and around the college. They’re also notorious for PDA-ing all over the campus, and many juniors aspire to be just like them.
3. The “Insta Influencer”
Every college has that one famous and popular person who has a large number of Instagram followers and a huge social media following. No matter where they go on campus, they will have a large following behind them.
4. The Talented Bunch
The talented bunch are a group of people who live, eat and breathe college cultural clubs and societies. These are the kind of people who will only hang with other creative people and seek out talented folks to spend time with. They are always trying to use their talents to entertain the rest of the people in the college.
5. The Foodie
Whenever you enter your college campus area, you will find that one person hogging on food or trying to eat all kinds of junk food. They will refer to themselves as food connoisseurs and indulge themselves.
6. The Party Animal
The party animal will rarely make it to class in time. They will always be in the mood to party regardless of the time, day, or month and can never stay still. You know that these guys will be at the top of it and throw the best bash ever when it comes to party planning. Whether it is their own birthday party or someone else’s, they are at the top of planning things.
7. The Creepy One
Another unfortunate reality of going to college is that you’ll have to deal with plenty of creeps. These can range from dudes who follow you around and constantly beg you to go out with them or that weird girl who copies everything you do.
8. The Latecomer
The latecomer is that one person who is perpetually late for their lectures. However, the thing about latecomers is that they are pretty smart and are great at pulling the wool over their teachers’ eyes. Somehow they manage to sneak into class and get away with it.
9. The Sleepy Ones
The sleepy ones are simply not morning people and spend a lot of time trying to keep their eyes open during class. The sleepy one can always be found on the last bench dozing off even before the class starts.
10. The Fashionista
For some special students out there, college is a modeling competition, and it’s their duty to represent the college through their fashion. They are most definitely rich kids with parents who give them countless credit cards. You’ll often spot them making faces at some of the other students on campus, and they’re probably best friends with the mean girls. Their dictionaries only consist of Fendi, Gucci, Prada, and Louis Vuitton. Unfortunately, fashion knowledge is not what gets people good grades (unless they are studying fashion designing).
11. The Teacher’s Pet
The teacher’s pet will only say, “yes ma’am and no ma’am”. They never stand up for themselves and will kiss their teachers’ butt to no end. Thanks to these shenanigans, they’re always in the good books of the teachers. But the rest of us know the reality of the situation and that they are the worst ones in the college.
