Step 1: Peel a banana and rub the fleshy inner side of the peel against your teeth. Initially, your gums will get sticky. Do not worry, continue rubbing your teeth for around 10 minutes. Make sure you do not rub your lips or gums with the banana peel.

Step 2: After 10-15 minutes, take a dry toothbrush and start brushing your teeth in a circular motion.

Step 3: Rinse your mouth thoroughly with plain water.

Step 4: Now, apply toothpaste on your toothbrush and brush your teeth as you would normally do. Repeat this twice a day for two weeks to see great results.

The reason the banana peel whitens our teeth so well is that it contains manganese, magnesium, potassium, and acids that help in breaking down the stains and dirt on the teeth. Though there is no scientific evidence to back up its effectiveness, rubbing the banana peel really works wonders for the teeth. The fiber present in the peel helps in polishing the tooth enamel.

So, which one would you prefer to whiten your teeth – harsh chemicals or this inexpensive home treatment? Hands down, our vote goes to the magical banana peel!
