9 Amazing Uses Of Aspirin

Aspirin is often considered as one of the super medicines that can help you treat pains, fever, inflammation, and what not. Take any first-aid box, and you will surely find aspirin in it. It is also used to prevent strokes, heart attacks, and chest pain. But, apart from these, this over-the-counter pain reliever can do wonders that we are not even aware of.

Here are a few non-medicinal ways in which you can use aspirin. We bet you won’t be disappointed after trying these methods!

1. It Helps You Fight Dandruff.

Since aspirin contains salicylic acid, it works great as a moisturizing agent. Thus, it helps reduce the formation of dandruff on your scalp.

There are many ways in which you can use aspirin to treat dandruff, but the best way is to take 3-4 pills of aspirin and crush them till you get a powder. Now, while shampooing your hair, mix this crushed aspirin with the shampoo and massage it onto your scalp. Leave it on for around 5-10 minutes and then rinse your hair. Try this twice a week, and soon, it will help you get rid of your dandruff.

You can even add crushed pills to your hair mask for soft and shiny hair.

2. It Can Be Used To Treat Pimples And Acne.

Aspirin has been used since ages to get rid of acne and other skin conditions. The salicylic acid present in it helps in dissolving the dead skin cells and shedding the top layer of the skin. This reduces the appearance of clogged pores, red patches, and swelling.

Here’s how you can use aspirin to treat pimples. Take 3-4 uncoated pills of aspirin and crush them properly. Now, take 4-5 tablespoons of warm water and add these crushed pills to it. Stir the mixture well until it forms a smooth paste. Apply it to the affected area and leave it on for 10 minutes. Wash your face with lukewarm water and then apply a moisturizing cream.

You can also add a teaspoon of honey to this paste for more effective results.

3. It Helps In Soothing Bug Bites.

According to various studies, aspirin can be used to reduce the pain and inflammation caused due to bug bites because of its anti-inflammatory properties.

All you have to do is take an uncoated pill of aspirin, soak it in water for some time, and rub this damp aspirin gently over the bite for some time. It will instantly soothe any itching you might be experiencing.

4. It Works Great As A Stain Remover.

The salicylic acid present in aspirin helps in neutralizing stains.

The procedure is almost similar. Take 3-4 pills of aspirin, crush them nicely and mix them in a cup of lukewarm water. Soak the stained piece of cloth in this water for around half an hour and then wash it with plain water. You can also use this water to clean your gas stove or burnt utensils. If there is a stain on the carpet, pour this mixture over the stain, leave it for some time and then rub it gently with a brush. Wipe the stain away with a clean cloth or tissue.

Take a damp aspirin. Crush it and apply it to the wart. Cover it with a piece of cloth or a tape and keep it on overnight. Try this for few days, and the wart will be gone soon.

Rather than investing a lot of money on chemicals and bathroom cleaners, using aspirin pills is probably one of the cheapest ways to clean the bathroom.

Mix two pills of uncoated aspirin in warm water and scrub the floor with this water. It will help in removing the soap scum and other contaminants from the bathroom floor and tiles.

7. It Also Works As A Soil Conditioner.

Treating the soil of your garden with aspirin water can help you eliminate the fungus present in it. These fungi affect the richness of soil and strip away the nourishment present in it. However, too many pills can affect the quality of the soil. Adding one or two pills to a bucket of water is more than enough.

8. You Can Use It As A Hand Sanitizer.

When you combine the acidic property of lemon juice with the stain removing property of an aspirin pill, the product you get can work as a good hand sanitizer.

To prepare your own hand sanitizer, crush a few pills of aspirin and mix them in lemon juice. Your hand sanitizer is ready to use! A drop or two is enough to remove stains from your hands.

9. Aspirin Can Be Used As A Hickey Concealer.

There is no doubt that a visible hickey can turn out to be an obvious cause of embarrassment. But, we have a way to hide those love bites and save you the blushes.

Rub a damp pill of aspirin over the hickey and then rinse it off with an eye drop solution. The mark will be gone in a jiffy. However, if it is still there, you can apply a concealer over it.
