It’s that time of the year again; the time when couples all over the world come together to celebrate the day of love. While some may argue that the big V-Day is not a big deal, for the people who are in love it is that one special day where you can show your significant other that you love them in different ways. Every year all the lovey-dovey couples plan big things for this day to commemorate their love for each other. From fancy dinner dates to romantic getaways, Valentine’s Day is celebrated with enthusiasm and excitement by couples everywhere. It is a day dedicated to reminding each other of the love they share and celebrate together. It is an occasion to bask in love with your partner, but what about those couples who are in long-distance relationships? No doubt, it is hard to stay away from the person you love but on a day meant to celebrate love, it becomes tough. Fret not! We are here to bring to you ideas for V-Day for couples who are away from each other. This way you can enjoy the day of love even if you are physically away from each other.

1. The “I Love You” Call

When in a long-distance relationship, you’re likely to talk to your partner every day. However, on this day do not forget to call them just to say those three magical words. A simple “I love you” can make them feel special and loved on this day. Your partner would probably be in a gloomy mood because they are far away from you and this phone call has the power to turn that around and make their day.

2. Think Outside The Box

Gone are the days when sending your partner flowers and teddies were considered special. What would bring a smile on their face would be to send them a care package with little things that they like. Something this thoughtful will show them how much you love them and miss them on Valentine’s Day. A hamper with a t-shirt, their favorite playlist, a handwritten note and perhaps their favorite food can be put together and packed together with a ribbon. Sending it to their home or workplace will give them a pleasant surprise and you are sure to receive a whirlwind of emotions over a phone call.

3. Romantic E-Date

Who says you cannot have a romantic candlelight dinner with your partner? Granted that you are miles away from your SO but you can make time for a virtual date and spend the evening with your long-distant partner. Order your favorite food, open a bottle of wine, light some candles and play some romantic music while you get on a video call with your sweetheart. This will be the most beautiful and romantic experience you can have with your love.

4. Dance The Blues Away

If there is one thing every couple has, it is a movie or song that they call theirs because of a special memory linked with it. This is the perfect time to reminisce about them. Get on a video call with your partner and share a dance over that special song or watch a romantic movie together while sharing some laughs. We assure you this will turn out to be more special than you thought and even though you are miles away from your partner, you will have had a romantic night together.

5. Send A Video Note

Not being in the same place as your sweetheart is difficult, especially on Valentine’s Day. A simple yet sweet way to make up for this is to create a video expressing your feelings for your partner. Tell them you love them and tell them why; tell them you miss them and let them know how much they mean to you. You could also include some funny, goofy bits in the video to make them laugh and send it to them. Your significant other will be overwhelmed with emotions and will cherish the video for life.

6. Surprise Surprise!

We saved the best for last because this one takes the cake. When you’re in a long-distance relationship, there is no better gift than yourself. The oldest trick in the book yet the most effective of them all is to plan a surprise to visit your partner on Valentine’s Day. There is nothing more romantic than this. Cancel your meetings, take off from work, book a ticket, pack your bags and meet your partner on V-Day. Nothing will make them as happy as seeing you there unexpectedly. Be sure to be treated special and make some special memories with your significant other.

We agree that it is not easy to be away from your partner on the day of love but that does not mean that there is no way to make it exceptional even when you are miles apart.
