When Vir-ushka tied the knot after years of dating, their fans went crazy to see the pair finally take the next step. Both are acclaimed in their own fields of work and are known for being one of Bollywood’s cutest couples. The couple kept their relationship under wraps for the most part and officially confirmed it when Virat Kohli praised his ‘love’ on Instagram. The pair tied the knot in December 2017 in Italy. Binge Watching Her Show
Let’s be real, lockdown days are all about binge-watching your favorite shows, eating whatever you can get your hands on and working from home. However, due to the fact that any matches/movies/video shoots/etc have been canceled in lieu of this pandemic, celebrities are out of work. While they may have other endeavors, they don’t get to do what they love the most during this time. Virat too took to Instagram and spoke about how he binge-watched the entire first season of the show, Paatal Lok. Paatal Lok is a show that has been produced by Anushka Sharma’s production house, Clean Slate Films. It deals with Mumbai’s underworld and has received rave reviews for its screenplay and storytelling.
The cricket player commended the show and referred to it as a “masterpiece”. Virat added that he was extremely gripped by the premise of the show. In addition to that Virat shared some love on Twitter by writing, “The perks of being married to the producer of this amazing show means I saw it weeks ago and I absolutely loved it! Well done Team Clean Slate Films @AnushkaSharma @OfficialCSFilms #PataalLok.” This isn’t the first time Virat has been vocal about his admiration for his lady love. When Anushka’s film, Zero came out, the cricket player spoke about how he thought his wife’s role in the film was extremely challenging. Although the film received mixed reviews, Virat commended Anushka for her outstanding performance.
Birthday (Non) Blues For Anushka
Anushka rang in her 32nd Birthday with Virat on the 1st of May. The pair looked smitten in the picture Virat shared on his Instagram as he was feeding her cake. He spoke about how Anushka lights up his world every day and how much he loves her. Anushka, on the other hand, shared an image and spoke about how she wishes for the suffering to end. The PK actress wrote an emotional post about how sadness and suffering are good friends. She added that for one to end, the other must end as well.
The pair have been up to a lot of things during this quarantine. Earlier Virat had shared a video of his darling wife donning the hat of a hairstylist and giving him a nice haircut during the quarantine. The pair have also spoken about the power of family and had even shared an image of them playing board games with Anushka’s parents during the lockdown. It was lovely to see the pair spreading such positive messages in this time of crisis.
Virat and Anushka have also taken up important causes during this time and the pair also spoke out about the rise in domestic violence during the lockdown. Along with many other actors like Madhuri Dixit, Farhan Akhtar, Dia Mirza, Virat and Anushka urged people to put a #lockdownondomesticviolence. Since there has been a steady rise in the number of domestic violence cases during the lockdown, celebrities asked people to stand up and report to 100 (the police number). They asked survivors of domestic violence to report to the police. They also encouraged people who witness it in their neighborhood or surroundings to report the matter as well. The massive rise in domestic violence cases hasn’t just been noted in India but across the globe and it is very disconcerting.
While this lockdown has sent us into a state of panic, it’s also important to recognize and appreciate what we do have and try to help out in any way we possibly can. It’s incredible to see so many celebrities taking up initiative for the greater and trying to help those who cannot speak out, reach a wider audience.
