Maintaining a good relationship with your ex is extremely difficult. And it gets even more difficult if both of you are in the limelight and at the prime of your careers. This was the case for Vivek Oberoi and Aishwarya Rai, who allegedly dated during the start of their careers. While the pair had a tumultuous relationship, they seemed to have parted on good terms and had moved on with their own lives. Recently, however, news broke that Aishwarya Rai, her daughter, Aaradhya Bachchan, husband, actor Abhishek Bachchan, and patriarch Amitabh Bachchan had all been diagnosed with the Coronavirus. Vivek Oberoi took to Twitter to share his well wishes for both Aishwarya as well as her family. The actor shared an image of Aishwarya and her daughter Aaradhya at a function and wrote, “Our prayers for the well being and quick recovery of the family.” The actor had also wished both Amitabh and Abhishek a speedy recovery. He stated that his family was praying for them and asked them to take care.
On Sunday, Amitabh had shared this note on his personal blog. He wrote, “My dearest extended family, your concern, your prayers, and your wishes for Abhishek, Aishwarya, Aaradhya, and me for a speedy recovery has filled me with unending gratitude. I thank you all,”. The actor has been showing mild symptoms and is currently located in Nanavati hospital in Mumbai.

And of course, because this is India, a woman’s past is clearly never her own (sarcasm), so people feel the need to bring it up and make fun of other people’s circumstances at the most inopportune time. However, there were many people who also showed support for Vivek Oberoi and spoke about how kind he was. Some brought up the fact that Vivek Oberoi remained humble and kind despite Salman Khan allegedly trying to end his career.
After all, Aishwarya Rai was Salman Khan’s ex and everyone knows how abusive he was towards her. During an interview with a leading magazine, Vivek had once stated that Salman Khan threatens him because of his apparent closeness to Aishwarya Rai. The actor had even said that Salman Khan made threatening calls to his hotel room once. However, Aishwarya apparently did not like Vivek Oberoi speaking about her personal life so publicly so she distanced herself away from her. Twitter citizens shared memes of the actors and made fun of them for their love lives because they’re such mature intellectuals (cringe).

At this time Rekha has not tested positive for the virus but her bungalow has been sealed by the BMC. Amitabh Bachchan’s bungalows have also been sealed by the government as they are under the process of sanitization. Many people took this devastating news lightly and chose to mock the families over their past and share memes of the same online. The insensitivity shown towards the situation is honestly ridiculous.
Anupam Kher’s Family Tests Positive
Veteran actor Anupam Kher recently revealed that his mother too was diagnosed with mild symptoms of Coronavirus. He revealed that his brother and he were also tested for the virus and while his brother, sister-in-law, and niece ended up testing positive for the virus, he tested negative. The actor added that his mother had been admitted to a hospital as she is of old age but his brother and brother’s family have self quarantined themselves.
Anupam also thanked the BMC for their speedy response and all their help during this time and added that they were in the process of sanitizing his brother’s home at the time. He explained that it was our responsibility to look out for symptoms and stated that the first symptom of the virus for his mother was loss of appetite. He also asked people to watch out for their elders due to their vulnerability.
It’s truly upsetting to see this virus affecting so many people around the world and taking so many lives. During a time like this, it is important to come together and share our love and support for each other rather than mocking people and spreading false rumors online.
