Two women were shopping. One says to her mate, “My MIL is an angel.”
Her friend replies, “Lucky you! Mine is still alive.”
A mother-in-law can be either a blessing or a curse. Some MILs can be very sweet, while others can be extremely evil. She is someone all girls are scared of, and probably the only reason most girls hesitate to marry a guy who stays with his parents.
If you do not share a healthy relationship with your MIL, then these three harsh signs may prove that she is definitely an evil MIL and is hell-bent on destroying you.
1. Whenever You Try To Be Nice To Her, She Never Responds. Instead, She Makes The Situation Worse.
Her thumb rule is to go against you, no matter what. She hates you so much that she always goes against your wishes. And this hatred arises the most during family gatherings. Whenever you invite her to any function, or holiday, or any other occasion, her first response would be ‘NO’. She would prefer dying rather than accepting your invite.
2. She Puts Her Heart And Soul Into Creating Rifts Between You And Your Partner.
And the day you realize your MIL is doing this, be ready to protect your relationship with your partner. Her hatred is something you need to deal with, but your relationship must be your priority. And in order to destroy your relationship with her child, she tries to prove you wrong at each and every step and make you realize that you’re not worth her child.
And if this happens to you, I truly wish that God saves you from the evil MIL.
3. If Provoking Her Child Was Not Enough, She Tries To Keep Your Child Away From You Too.
She feels that she is the best pediatrician for your child as she has more experience in parenting than you. She is always against your parenting decisions. She also tries to underestimate your mother and tries to prove that she loves your child more and can take care of her/him better than your mother.
But if she does this, don’t try to keep your children away from her. Having a Grandma is a gift. Don’t even think of snatching this gift from them. As soon as your children will grow up, they will automatically understand what is good for them and what is not. Just make sure to give them a good upbringing.
If you’re unhappy with the relationship you share with your MIL, then you can try these tips to see if they work!
- You can always try and approach your partner and discuss this matter. I am sure he will understand your feelings and try to talk to his mother to resolve the situation.
- Her behavior clearly proves that she doesn’t like to see you around. But don’t lose hope. Try to make sure that you don’t lack anywhere. Even if she doesn’t accept your invites, it’s your duty to invite her. Also, don’t try to imitate her. If she is not accepting your invite, rather than denying her invitation, accept it and be a part of her events. You’re not going to lose your pride by doing this. I believe this positive attitude will definitely impress your partner and other family members.
- Even after all your efforts, if your MIL doesn’t seem impressed, instead of getting upset or angry over her behavior, try to calm down and walk away with a smiling face. Trust me, this is a better way to handle the situation rather than arguing or fighting with her.
So, these were the signs that prove that your MIL is evil and wishes for your destruction. I know, it might be a difficult situation for you, but keep trying to have a good relation with her. Some day, she’ll realize that her child married a gem, and she might just start loving you a little!
