A couple of vodka shots will not only trick you into thinking that you’re the prettiest babe in the room, but it will also prove to be a great tool in your arsenal of beauty products. This liquor works as a brilliant astringent. You can use it as a toner to tighten the pores and rejuvenate your skin. Use a cotton swab and pat some vodka on your face whenever your skin’s being grumpy and tired (if you’re the one who’s too grumpy, you can go ahead and drink the vodka). Vodka makes for a great antiseptic treatment for wounds too, yes, that includes the zit you just picked. If you’re feeling a little too dizzy after reading this, you can soak makeup sponges in vodka and water and make yourself an eye pack to soothe those eyes. We’re not kidding (1)!

While celebrities and our rich friends run to the cosmetologist to get themselves a botox, we can stick to bee venom for that, or maybe a love bite will do the trick. Jokes aside, Bee venom has a strong anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial, and astounding anti-wrinkle properties. No, we’re not asking you to get yourself stung by a bee. Rather, we are recommending you to look for products that use sanitized bee venom. Even the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, has used this to get a flawless skin (2). This “nature’s botox” gives you glowing, plumper-looking, and visibly smoother skin by relaxing your facial muscles and stimulating the production of elastin and collagen. It works wonders to smoothen your wrinkles (3).

To top it off, the folate and niacin in pumpkins help in reviving the skin and getting rid of dead cells. If you like eating pumpkins, you can mindfully add this to your diet to reap the benefits. Or, if you’ve got some time on your hands, apply it topically as a face mask. Here a list of quick DIY pumpkin masks for you (5).

We just need another reason to get between the sheets, don’t we? But, lovemaking and exercise is an open secret to glowing and youthful skin (6). The logic is simple, the more you romp between the sheets, the more is the blood flow to the skin, ergo the unmissable glow. Now you know how your best friend manages to get that glow over the weekend, don’t you? Additionally, when you experience the Big O, your body releases oxytocin, the love hormone that reduces stress levels and abates the inflammation throughout the body (7).

Just like Cleopatra, the queen of beauty, did, we should bathe in goat’s milk too! We know that’s neither a feasible nor an appealing option, but before you diss us, hear us out. Goat’s milk has caprylic and alpha-hydroxy acids, that helps in getting rid of layers of old, tired, and dead skin. Well, you could give your expensive chemical peels and spa facials a miss, and treat yourself to the goodness of goat’s milk or buy yourself the soaps. From protecting yourself from skin cancer to escaping the trap of premature skin aging, goat’s milk soaps will be your magic wand for glowing skin (8).

We have been told that bacteria is what irritates our skin, but we are talking about the good bacteria, a.k.a, the probiotics. Probiotics work wonderfully to reduce the inflammation in our body. When our overall system has reduced inflammation, there is a diminished occurrence of acne, patchy skin, or redness. This is the easiest way to get glowing skin because all you have to do is eat! Get your hands on some yogurt or fermented foods and veggies to improve your skin texture and give it a natural shine.

We often find ourselves experimenting with store-bought products and DIYs to get that perfect-looking skin that’s flawless, radiant, and youthful. But did you know that these off-beat products could do the trick for you? Weird as they are, their effects are all the more promising and alluring. Would you try any of these?
