International Women’s Day 2021: Kareena Kapoor Khan, Anupam Kher, Virat Kohli And More Extend Wishes On Social Media

International Women’s Day falls on the 8th of March every year and is celebrated by tonnes of people across the globe. While many believe that there doesn’t have to necessarily be one day to celebrate women, it is nice to know that there is one. Many Bollywood celebrities went onto their social media channels to sing praises and share their wishes for all the incredible women in their lives. From Ananya Panday to Varun Dhawan, Boney Kapoor and Virat Kohli, celebrities decided to share their well wishes for all the lovely women in their lives. They shared powerful notes for the women in their lives and motivated them to stay unique always. Here’s what these eleven celebrities had to say:

1. Virat Kohli

The newest daddio in town, Virat Kohli had some wonderful words for his wife Anushka Sharma and their little baby girl, Vamika. Virat spoke about how witnessing the birth of his child was the most unbelievable, spine-chilling, and incredible experience a human could ever have. He stated that after witnessing this, he could finally understand the true divinity and strength of women. He also stated that he believes God gifted women with the ability to create life because women are stronger than men. He referred to Anushka as the most compassionate, strong, and fierce woman in his life and he hoped that his daughter would grow up to be the same way.

2. Kareena Kapoor Khan

Kareena Kapoor Khan, who recently welcomed her second child with husband, Saif Ali Khan, shared an adorable selfie of herself and her newborn. This was the first time she shared a picture of her baby on social media. In the caption she spoke about how there is nothing that a woman cannot do.

3. Priyanka Chopra Jonas


Priyanka Chopra Jonas decided to give thanks to the people who deserve it the most— her staff. She shared a cute video on her Instagram and spoke about how it takes an entire village to run her social media. She stated that behind everything that she does, there is a team of driven, intelligent, and uber-talented women. She added that the women she shared in her video make her who she is and thanked them for their work. Priyanka ended her fond wishes with “Here’s to you, ladies”.

4. Janhvi Kapoor

Janhvi Kapoor shared a sweet message about International Women’s day on her Instagram page. She spoke about how we should celebrate and accept all the definitions of what makes women beautiful. She added that women should navigate their relationship with the concept of beauty by celebrating all the imperfections that make them beautiful and perfect. She ended her note with, “There’s no wrong or right when it comes to your self image, the only thing that matters is to love yourself and do what makes you feel confident.”

5. Anupam Kher

Anupam Kher gave thanks to the wonderful and hard working ladies that work for him. He stated that women make up at least 60% of the staff in his office. He referred to the women who worked with him as the “backbone” of the organization and he wished them all a very happy International Women’s Day and shared images of himself with them.

6. Boney Kapoor


Boney Kapoor shared a picture of his three daughters, Anshula, Janhvi and Khushi along with a picture of his late wife, Sridevi on his Twitter account. He spoke about how he was blessed to have some of the strongest women in the world in his life and added that their inner power has been his biggest strength.

7. Varun Dhawan

Varun Dhawan shared some interesting pictures of the women in his life, including his wife. Natasha Dalal, and referred to women as “Bharatiya naari sab pe bhaari” and spoke about how everyone posts pictures on social media to mark this day as special. However, he also added that the real job will only be done once the country is safe for women.

8. Anushka Sharma

Anushka shared a cute throwback picture of her mother and her at her birthday party and shared a strong message of love and peace. She spoke about celebrating the silently resilient women, the ones who break themselves down to become more aware and better nurturers, as well as the strong ones.

9. Ananya Panday

Ananya Panday shared adorable pictures of herself with her maternal and paternal grandmothers and spoke about how they were the epitome of beauty, perseverance, grace, and humor. She also wished a happy women’s day to all the lovely women out there and added that she believed they are very special and everything that they needed is right inside them.

In the end, it is important to remember that we should all endeavor to make the world a safer space for all the women out there. Like Varun Dhawan said, it is all well and good to share images on social media, but our job isn’t done until we have made the world a safe space.
