I Replaced My Old Soaps For These 5 Handmade Soaps & It Changed My Skin

Written by Shivani K •

What is it that we use to clean our skin? Soaps, right? It’s the most affordable and easily available thing that we can use to clean our skins. I’ve been a soap lover (Go ahead, call me weird). I can explain about my obsession with soaps too, don’t worry! I loved the colors, I loved the soap bubbles, and I absolutely loved the amazing scents of the soaps too. But, you know the dramatic weather conditions these days, right? I live in a very pleasant city, Bengaluru which is known for its amazing weather. But, as a result of pollution, this year Bengaluru’s winters turned out to be very harsh. It almost felt like a hill station. The temperature dropped to as low as 12 degree Celsius. And my skin certainly faced a lot of issues because of the dry, cold winter weather. Despite moisturizing it right and wearing warm clothes, my skin only kept cracking and became even more sensitive. It was later on that I realized that it was the run-off-the-mill bathing soap that was worsening my skin’s condition. And this included everything – scaly hands and legs, cracked heels and lips.

I knew one person could help with my situation here and that definitely was my Bff! She is known in our friend circle for her beauty tippanis. I met her the following day and asked for her help. I thought she’d give me a list of supplies from grocery to use as DIY remedies that help our skin brave through the chilly winters. I was taken aback when she handed me five handmade soaps. She asked me to try it out for a couple of weeks. I was skeptical at first. In the back of my head, I was thinking what if these turned out to be like the other failed skin care products that did more harm than wonders to my skin.

I had to use it anyway (Bff love you see). And it’s been a month now and my skin’s never felt this happier before. Let me explain why. Read on.

Yes, that’s what I’d like to call this soap – it gives one the absolute beauty. This handmade soap is made up of sandalwood, kesar, and turmeric. This soap has some serious healing properties alright. It helped lighten the scars and all the dark spots. It made my skin tone even. The fact that it’s a 100% natural and alcohol-free soap helped reduced my acne problems as well.

The Final Result: It’s the most harmless soap I’ve ever used. It can be used on your face as well. And if your skin is a victim of acne, then this soap will work wonders on your skin.

Firstly, tell me, isn’t this soap cute? When my friend gave it to me, I thought of it to be a toy. But, it’s not. It’s soap! This soap is made up of goat’s milk, vitamin E, and glycerin, all of which are skin’s health boosters. What I loved most about this soap is that it kept my skin well hydrated and moisturized.

The Final Result: Smells incredible, looks adorable, and my skin loves it. This answers everything!

This soap is made of goat milk and honey which are packed with all things good — vitamin B1, D, C, B12, E, and fatty acids. My skin looked like a barren piece of land. And this soap made my skin shine by deep moisturizing it. The honey is known for its natural exfoliant properties and also gifts your skin the right glow.

The Final Result: It left my skin soft and supple.

The Final Result: Of course, it exfoliates my skin. But I love the smell even more. I fell for that.

This is a soap I can never get bored of ever since I started using it. I saved the best one for last peeps. It’s a raspberry soap which not just refreshed your skin. It also helps softens the fine wrinkles and lines on your face, thereby fighting the signs of aging. Raspberry is known to have antioxidants that fight aging.

The Final Result: I highly recommend this. Period.

Okay, so overall, I totally loved these handmade soaps which only made me love my Bff even more. My skin feels amazing and is in its best health now.
