    Too bad it didn’t work out as promised. But 3 Kgs in a week is still a pretty good sign. Let me try it out in January. Also do you not feel any giddiness when you do it?

    that is, when you don’t eat rice which contain essential daily carb intake, will it not cause hungriness and giddiness? Are the fruits, vegetables sufficient to last you through the day and the week?

    Sorry, just curious and want to know if there were any side effects?

      I’m really glad you took the patience to read the article ;)
      to answer your question, I was very skeptical in the beginning to try it out as even I was worried about the lack of carbohydrates in the diet. But as I started it, I realised that for the amount of sugars we put in our body through the fruits and vegetables, we’ll be so full that we wouldn’t even realise we haven’t eaten any carbs.
      No giddiness or anything. In fact by day four, I was sick of eating. My portions decreased and I no longer felt hunger pangs :)

          if you feel hungry…you’re doing it wrong…!!!
          try eating throughout the day rather than your regular meal times. that should help

    Well, i dont agree with the fad diets at all. esp. gm diet, if u’ll monitor your weight, u’ll gain it right back within a week of eating right. these diet cut back on protein and other vital nutrients. the weight people generally loose is water weight. just monitor your weight after one week, all the lost weight will be right back. for healthy weight loss, one has to make lifestyle changes.

      Hi Shweta,
      Thank you for posting your honest opinion. Let me tell you mine. I did the GM diet way back in october. It is january now. Almost four months to the day I finished the diet. I had lost 3 kilos, and I haven’t gained them back till now. My lifestyle hasn’t changed nor have my food habits. Where has the weight gone then?
      I believe t has gone for good. And I certainly will be doing this again and again. If not for weightloss but for my general wellbeing. :)

          Thank you Shweta…the trick during the diet is to choose your fruits and vegetables in such a way that all the nutrient requirements are met.
          We are in no way starving ourselves nor are we depriving the body of any of the nutrients/ calorie count required :) :)

            I am more of an exercise person, i really dont get the dieting stuff, in past three year i had been in two major cosmopolitan gyms , one in New York and another in London, i have learnt this fro my trainers there. eating healthy and exercising is the best way for all around wellness. but anyways dear whatever works for ones body type is best suited for them. All the best for your future rendezvous ..

In my case, I’ve started Gym for weight loose & having a conscious diet. but i can follow this Diet as I’ve indulge into a intense workout program ? I’m getting shapes because of exercise but not loosing weight with i want to ripped of.

            Please suggest me if I can follow the GM diet plan with any addition to meet my Protein requirement. Hope to hear from you soon..

            this diet isnt designed for an intense workout because we simply cannot compensate enough energy with it. try having a portion of dal or lean meat with each meal to compensate with it

    I followed this diet, but due poor availability of vegetables, i had sprouts along with tomatoes and onions. Also, i substituted rice with oats. But, I haven’t had any weight loss, I weigh 80 kgs & am still at that. But i do feel lighter. Will more such sessions of diet help me shed a bit of weight ?

      i feel the substitute is right.
      but are you drinking the mentioned amount of water?
      and you need to combine this diet with mild exercise and min half an hour walk..

    I have also gone through this diet several times, and managed to lose only 3kgs every time. Of which, 1 kg I would tend to put on very fast, but the other 2 kgs lost have stayed off me for ever. Hence, this diet is definitely worth a try. I have managed to take off 10 kgs off me, during a period of 6 months by just following this diet once a month for 6 months.

    i have done this diet for 3 months now and must say that i have lost 13 kilos so far and put nothing back on. i have been eating fatty stuff inbetween this period and its just fantastic that all the weight you lose doesnt come back on. of all the diets i have tried i would recommend this one to any of them like me who are obese and have about 30 or more kilos to lose. i still have a long way to go in terms of losing more but can achieve it through this diet.

      congrats. Combine the diet with mild exercise and a half an hour walk. You won’t feel dizzy or tired during the diet

    It is not just following the plan, you need to do atleast 15-20 mins Walk and 20-30 mins exercise. I started 4 days back, in the afternoon when i checked i almost reduced 3 Kgs….Also you need to drink lot of water….

    I completed my gm diet. Total I lost 2 kgs only.. but feeling very good. My body feeling lite now. Got habit of drinking more water and eating greens and fruits. Now I am not liking to eat salty chips or any other junk food and deep fries. My taste buds got changed and just hating salt and sugar :) <3 will do again after a week

      2nd day u feel head ache in the night. But don worry. just 1 more day. From 4th day u don’t get head ache or any pain. u will start feeling comfortable from 4th day. keep updating ur weight loss :)

    Did the diet lost 3kk. Not sure how much you can eat of the curd, sprouts, cottage cheese or paneer etc as a vegetarian. Does anyone know? I cup of brown rice and 6 tomatoes seem to be a small amount to the large portions of beef!

    Hi, after reading your post, I too started with GM diet. I a very heavy person…so I really wanted to loose lot of weight and dunno how to start ;). Everytime I think to reduce..but somehow not able to.

    Anyways as per your post I started day1..and was very happy I was able to complete without any issues..But Second day was really tough..By midday I felt dizziness..:(. And so with vegetables I ate a slice of bread :(. Is it okay?

    This is my third day. Hope I will finish this day too. But yesterday I am not sure I did cheat..Will that create a lot of difference?

    you said on day 5th one can have brown rice and tomamtos. i want to know 1 cup brown rice should be cooked or uncooked? i mean 1 cup uncooked rice is in much quantity when it been cooked. whereas 1cup cooked rice is so less that i can’t stay on it for a day. kindly help me.
    i am on a 5th day of the diet. and today i took 1 cup uncooked rice. was confused whether i should eat this large quantity or not? but finaly had some of that, i thought it might be my mistake, that much quantity may not be allowed. so tell me what is the right thning? as tomorow is my 6th day and also will have rice. need the help.

    I am 68 yrs old, I have tried this diet two three times in3 years and would loose only 2 kilos.Recently when I followed my diet I used to get lots of cramps in my legs and was difficult to sleep.

    I have done this diet numerous times. Have lost 27 kgs in all. I would alternate every week. On the week that I was off GM I would follow a low calorie, low fat diet. One very important detail was missed out in this article, is the soup – THE WONDER SOUP. You MUST (absolutely MUST) have this soup in very large quantities. Otherwise you won’t lose weight. Google for the recipe. Another very important factor is you cannot keep yourself hungry. You must keep eating as often as required to keep you feeling full. Otherwise you won’t lose as much weight and also will put back everything that you lost. Hope this helps folks trying to lose weight.
