I can’t even hold garlic clove in my hands because it makes me hot and itch so bad so imagine if I rubbed it on my scalp, but if I use aged garlic extract orally or topically I have no problem. The smell is nowhere near the same as a garlic clove and it does not linger. It taste sort of like soy sauce.I wash it out of my hair after 20-40 minutes with a non toxic shampoo. So many people couldn’t understand how it made my hair grow so fast, thick and long. They think I’m wearing a big wig.

Hi Anna, rough and dry hair can be the result of dry, itchy scalp and lack of moisture. First of all you will need to tackle with dandruff…a healthy scalp will lead to healthy hair. Some of the remedies to tackle of these problems are:
    1. Yogurt and pepper – yogurt contains friendly bacteria that prevents scaling of scalp and pepper is an antifungal. Take two spoons of pepper and ground it finely. Add this to one cup of yogurt or curd. Mix it completely and apply on the scalp (make sure you apply only on the scalp and not on the hair). Leave it undisturbed for an hour and then rinse. Use a mild shampoo after that.
    2. Olive oil – Olive does two things here. Firstly it can cure dandruff and secondly it moisturizes the dry areas of the scalp and the hair. Before going to bed, massage your scalp with warm olive oil every day. Cleanse your hair with a mild shampoo the next morning. Ensure the olive oil is just warm and not too hot.
Hope you find these tips to be useful and do share your experience with us !

  • http://www.stylecraze.com/ StyleCraze

Thanks….glad that you liked our article :-) application of onion juice is an effective way to boost hair growth. However the pungent smell of onions can be difficult to get rid off but not impossible. Few ways of removing the smell is rinsing your hair with apple cidar vinegar or few drops of lemon juice diluted in water after shampooing of hair. Another way is to apply olive oil in generous amount..leave it on hair for an hour and then wash your hair with a mild shampoo. Secondly, it is true that biotin is beneficial for healthy hair and nails. Biotin can be found in eggs, mushroom, avocado, peanut butter, cheese, salmon, cauliflower, whole wheat bread, almonds, bananas, soyabeans etc. Do include these items in your diet to enjoy the benefits of biotin.

Hi Basha, yes you can use castor oil instead of coconut oil or olive oil. Boil a few cloves of crushed garlic in castor oil. Apply it to the roots of your hair follicles. Wash off your hair after few hours or leave it overnight. Use this treatment thrice a week for best results.

  • http://www.stylecraze.com/ StyleCraze

Thanks for the tip Ratna !! It is true that sometimes insufficient intake of water can lead to hair loss. Toxicity in the body makes the body too acidic. While some acidity is very important for body processes to function correctly, over-acidity is a problem and can lead to hair loss. If one then also don’t drink any water during the day, the acidity stays in the body undiluted and this is where damage occurs.

  • http://www.stylecraze.com/ StyleCraze

Hi Basha, you can combine both onion juice and few crushed garlic, mix it with any hair oil of your choice like coconut oil/ castor oil /olive oil. Hi Surbhi, castor oil and olive oil are beneficial for hair growth. Also when you apply this oil on hair…heat the oil a little and massage it well on the scalp. Also apply oil to your hair before you hit the bed.. leave it overnight and wash your hair next morning. Do wash your hair before you step out, as oily hair attracts dust and dirt making the scalp greasy.

Hi Vivek, thinning hair and losing hair can be a normal part of ageing or may be due to other causes. Age also makes hair become finer. Thinning of hair can be caused due to other reasons like poor diet, stress, certain medication, and thyroid problem etc. Application of raw onion juice on the scalp, once or twice in a week for a couple of months. Onion juice is rich in sulfur that boosts collagen production in the tissues and helps in re-growth of hair. If your hair fall persists then consult a doctor or dermatologist who may diagnose hair loss by carrying out a physical examination and checking your medical history.

Hi Keerthi, normally women lose at least 70-100 hair per day but increased levels of estrogen during pregnancy halts this process and most of our hair go into the resting phase of hair cycle due to which instead of falling, our hair stay on our head and we get the most desirable volume. When your baby is born estrogen levels also starts declining and all the hair which were in resting phase start falling out. Generally the hair come back to their pre-pregnancy state after 6-8 months of baby’s birth. Some of the remedies that will help in minimizing hair fall and damage caused due to pregnancy are :
    1. Egg white: Make a hair pack by blending one egg white and two tablespoon olive oil well. Apply it on your hair for around 30 minutes and then rinse it off with lukewarm or cold water.
    2. Curd: Curd is an excellent tonic which can help you in arresting the excessive hair fall and will simultaneously improve the quality of hair. Apply the paste of curd on the scalp and leave it for 10 mins. You can even add yogurt into your diet to enhance the nutritional value of your diet.
Focus on good and healthy diet along with some exercises.

Hi Megha, in most cases of scalp and eyebrow hair loss caused by thyroid disorders are temporary, but it may take several months for the medication to stimulate your hair to regrow. Try to be patient as regrowth can be unpredictable, and be aware that new hair may differ in texture and colour. Some tips to follow are: take care in washing, treating and grooming your hair. Use wide toothed brushes or combs. Have a varied and healthy diet, with calcium-rich foods and/or supplements taken 4 hours apart from your thyroid dose. Discuss this with your doctor if in any doubt.

Hi Rahim, to control your hair fall, it is important to understand the cause behind it and any medicine or remedy will require time and patience to show results. Your hair will not regenerate in a couple of days. It would be wise to consult a dermatologist to assess your hair and scalp.

Hi Mc Kenna, after you rinse your hair with apple cider vinegar solution, there is no need to rinse your hair again with water. The solution works well as a leave-in conditioner.

Hi Sigy, some of the home remedies that you can follow to grow and nourish your hairs are:
    1. Egg mask – Whisk an egg. Mix in four tablespoons of grapeseed oil and a few drops of lavender oil. Apply it on your hair and scalp and leave it on for half an hour. Finally, rinse it out and shampoo your hair as usual.
    2. Aloe vera – Apply fresh aloe vera gel mixed with a little lemon juice and leave it on for about 20 minutes. Shampoo your hair. Do this once every week or two.
Follow any of the remedies regularly to notice the difference.

Hi Harmandeep, whether the hair will grow depends on what was done during the procedure. Quite often, hair loss around an incision is temporary due to shock to the hair follicles. However, if the follicles were injured during the procedure, sometimes the hair will not grow back. But, you might want to consider these methods of re-growing your hair on scalp scars:
    1. Massaging scalp – This can be a good treatment to remove dead skin cells that are concentrated on the scar. Gentle massaging will promote better blood flow and provides sufficient oxygen to the infected area.
    2. Vitamin E – This vitamin is very important to promote better scar healing. Immediately consume vitamin E-containing foods or capsules to induce collagen production by your body. This will help your scars to be less visible and can be covered by surrounding hair.
    3. Hair implant. This can be considered when you have large scar on your scalp. The method is not done by removing the scar, yet by implanting some hair into the scar. This implanted hair will thus grow on your scar tissues and provide coverage to your scars.
    Hope this information helps you.

    Hi Priyanka….thanks for your appreciation!
Coming to your query, PCOS is an endocrine disorder that leads to hormonal imbalances causing hair loss. To prevent hair loss – you must follow a healthy PCOS lifestyle which includes a proper PCOS diet, proper PCOS exercise, rest, stress management and in most cases vitamin and mineral supplementation. Along with these follow a regular home remedy to strengthen your hair. Also, stay away from too may hair products, especially those containing sulfate and alcohol strip your hair of necessary oils to keep hair healthy and growing properly. Opt for an organic shampoo and conditioner.

Hi Bristi, heredity is the top cause of premature hair loss. If one of your parents started losing hair by early adulthood, chances are, you will also. You may notice a receding hairline or overall thinning of the hair. Another common cause of hair loss is hormonal changes. Puberty can cause temporary excess shedding during the teen years. When changes in personal care or temporary hormone fluctuations are ruled out, check with your doctor in case of more serious causes. Possibilities include anemia, ringworm, thyroid disease and lupus. Hair loss may also signify nutritional deficiencies, which aren’t uncommon in teens and young adults.

Hi Fathima, pumpkin seed oil stimulates hair growth, and inhibits the formation of DHT that in turn prevents hair loss. Pumpkin seed oil works best when taken as a dietary supplement. It is essential to consult a doctor before using supplements.

I applied Hena Pack and it amazingly worked for my hair growth. This pack not only works for hair growth but also works for making hair silky, strong and dandruff free.
I did not use yogurt with hena. I used mustard oil with it as my wife suggested me. Now I have decided to apply this pack (hena with yogurt). I have already shown my wife this article and she has agreed to make this pack for me.
Thank you for sharing all these tips.

Can i mix all these ingredients to make a super hair growth recipe?

    • http://www.stylecraze.com/ StyleCraze

Hi, it wouldn’t be advisable to mix all the ingredients as it could possibly damage your hair. Try small combinations of few ingredients and patch test them before making proper use of it, to be sure that you aren’t allergic to what you choose.
